Suitable for any combination of Clarinet, Trumpet, Soprano Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, and Baritone Treble Clef. Could be used for school, church or community. It can be presented with 1, 2 or 3 instruments (or more!) and it is possible to play 1, 2 or all 3 verses. The First part plays the melody all the way through and the part is identical on all 3 verses except for the key. The Second part adds harmony to verses 2 and 3. The Third part adds an obligato part on the Introduction and Verse 3. (this could be a teacher/adult/advanced student part if the other part(s) are played by students) Parts for Flute (part 2) and Violin/Glockenspiel (part 1) have been added - just in case! To contribute to the feel of a Silent Night, the piano part has been kept intentionally simple. Verse 3 can be played without the piano part, if desired, to add dramatic impact to the last verse. You can use any verse by itself, as each is a self-contained unit. If you want the melody alone, you can skip the Introduction to Verse 1 and start right on Measure 5 with the melody (you could even leave out the piano part!) There is an alternate Part 2 that is transposed up an octave for Tenor Saxophone or Clarinet. There is an alternate part 3 that is transposed down an octave.
