Celtic,Folk,Holiday,Irish,Multicultural,Wedding,World. Score and parts. 4 pages. David McKeown #6013301. Published by David McKeown (A0.588789). The Londonderry Air is among the best loved melodies of Ireland. This beautiful version is arranged as a duet for one Flute and one Oboe. The Londonderry Air was first collected and notated in the mid-nineteenth century in County Londonderry in the North of Ireland, however, the origins of the melody remain unknown. In 1913 the English writer Frederic Weatherley set his poem Danny Boy to the melody. There are many other settings of the Londonderry Air, with various lyrics and in musical styles from orchestral to brass band to jazz, but Danny Boy remains the best known.Londonderry Air is simply arranged in accessible keys and over a range best suited to the instruments. The melody is played twice with a key change and different accompaniment on the second verse and is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above. With a performance time of a little over three minutes, this version of Londonderry Air is perfect for recitals and concert performance. David McKeown #6274667. Published by David McKeown (A0.591100). Daffodil Doo-Wop is a fun and original duet written by David McKeown for one Flute and one Oboe. Daffodil Doo-Wop is one in a series of ten Easter-themed duets, each written in a different Rock’n’Roll style. Doo-wop reached the height of its popularity in the early ‘60s but its origins were in the African-American vocal harmony groups in East Coast cities in the ‘40s. Doo-Wop was a major influence on the soul and pop music that followed it, with groups such as the Drifters, the Four Seasons and even the Beach Boys adopting the vocal harmonies. Daffodil Doo-Wop is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above. With a playing-time of around two minutes, Daffodil Doo-Wop is a perfect addition to any performance program, formal or informal. Instrumental Duet Flute,Instrumental Duet,Oboe - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.796847 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Stephanie Daige. Celtic,Folk,Holiday,Traditional. Score and parts. 1 pages. Stephanie Daige #3072339. Published by Stephanie Daige (A0.796847). Traditional Irish favorite arranged for Flute and Oboe duet.  It would work well with any two treble single line instruments (i.e. 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 saxophones, etc) that are in the same key.  Each voice gets a solo, and there are some nice harmonies between the two voices.  My husband and I play this for my mom on St. Patrick's Day and it moves her to tears.  It's in the key of F for an easy key and the range is easy as well.  .

Instrumental Duet Flute,Instrumental Duet,Oboe - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.588786 Composed by David McKeown. Latin,Multicultural,Standards,World. Score and parts. 6 pages. David McKeown #5857353. Published by David McKeown (A0.588786). Calypso d’Isaac is an exciting original composition by David McKeown, arranged as a duet for one Flute and one Oboe. This duet is written in the style of Calypso music. Calypso’s roots lie in West Africa but first appeared in recognisable form in the late 19th century in Trinidad.  Originally sung in French Creole, the music quickly spread throughout the Caribbean and Venezuela. The modern English-language Trinidadian style is often topical and political in content. Calypso performers such as Mighty Sparrow in turn have inspired new styles such as Ska, Reggae and Soca, while Calypso rhythms can be heard in countless international hits such as Mary’s Boy Child and Disney’s Under the Sea. If you play to an intermediate standard and upwards, then you and your audience will enjoy this piece. Following the articulation in the score will help convey the relaxed but rhythmic style. Calypso d’Isaac has a performance time of two and a half minutes.
