April Sun In Cuba — Contemporary rock/pop ensemble By Paul Hewson, Marc Hunter. Arranged by Luke Greenhalgh and Dan Ford for contemporary rock/pop ensemble, including parts for rhythm section, tenor saxophone, alto saxophone, and trombone. This arrangement is gig-tested and designed for ease of reading during the heat of a live gig. All parts include chord changes for improvised solos or embellishment of backing parts. N.B. This arrangement does not include lyrics, the melody, or a vocal part. The parts are designed for live performance with a vocalist that knows the melody and lyrics. April Sun In Cuba is the hit song by New Zealand band Dragon from their 1977 album Running Free. This arrangement features a combined Rhythm Section part with clear chord spellings and rhythmic cues for bass guitar, drum kit, guitar, and piano. Additionally, the arrangers have included original backing parts for alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, and trombone to add depth of textures and dynamics to the arrangement. The horn parts include up to the three voices in harmony allowing a choice of which horn takes the first, second, or third part. The tenor saxophone can be doubled by Bb trumpet, making the appropriate octave transpositions. Find more arrangements by Dan Ford at www.danfordmusic.com.
