C Instrument - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1247857 By Joe Cocker. By Billy Preston and Bruce Fisher. Arranged by John Fries. 20th Century,Film/TV,Pop,Standards. Thanks, John.  English singer Joe Cocker released a version of the song on his album I Can Stand a Little Rain.  Cocker's version was released as a single in November 1974.  It became Cocker's highest-charting solo hit, peaking at number five on the United States' Billboard Hot 100.  Billy Preston wrote You Are So Beautiful with one of his regular collaborators, Bruce Fisher.  Preston's inspiration was his mother, who worked as a stage actress.  According to his friend Sam Moore (who had assumed it was a standard love song), Preston was appalled to learn that Moore was using the song as a means to attract young women each time he sang it in concert.  In Moore's description, Preston told him: That song's about my mother!.

Barry Manilow's version reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in January 1976 after spending two weeks atop the Billboard adult contemporary chart in December 1975. It won a Grammy Award for Song of the Year and was nominated for Record of the Year in 1977. Johnston has stated that, for him, the I in the song is God. Manilow was initially reluctant to record the song, stating in his autobiography Sweet Life: The problem with the song was that if you didn't listen carefully to the lyric, you would think that the singer was singing about himself. It could be misinterpreted as a monumental ego trip.

C Instrument - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1495048 By Cream. By Eric Clapton and George Harrison. Arranged by Marcelo Borba. Blues,Folk,Jazz,R & B,Rock. Lead Sheet / Fake Book. 3 pages. Marcelo Borba #1071612. Published by Marcelo Borba (A0.1495048). Part Leadsheet style. Chrods  The song Badge is a famous track that emerged from a collaboration between George Harrison of The Beatles and Eric Clapton, one of the most renowned guitarists in rock. This song is part of the album *Goodbye* (1969) by the band Cream, which Clapton was a member of, along with Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker. The story behind Badge is interesting and reflects the close friendship between Harrison and Clapton at the time.### Collaboration and CreationGeorge Harrison and Eric Clapton were great friends, and this friendship resulted in several musical collaborations over the years. Badge was written during a session where both were together. Harrison wrote the main part of the song, while Clapton contributed the characteristic guitar riff and melody.### The Title BadgeThe story of the song's title is curious. According to reports, Harrison wrote the word Bridge in the draft of the song to indicate a transition part. Clapton, reading the draft, mistakenly interpreted the word as Badge. They found the confusion amusing and decided to keep Badge as the official title of the song.### Ringo Starr's ContributionRingo Starr, drummer of The Beatles, also participated in the creation of Badge. He contributed a line of lyrics that says, I told you not to wander around in the dark. Starr's involvement in the creation of the song is further proof of the frequent interactions between The Beatles members and Clapton.### Release and ReceptionBadge was released as part of Cream's *Goodbye* album and became one of the album's most memorable songs. Although it was a collaboration, the song is generally credited to Clapton and Harrison. The song is known for its iconic guitar riff and the blend of rock and blues elements. This collaboration between George Harrison and Eric Clapton is an example of how friendship and mutual respect between musicians can result in unique and enduring creations. Badge is a song that is still appreciated by fans of classic rock and highlights the genius of the artists involved.

C Instrument - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.842476 By The Fray. By Isaac Slade and Joseph King. Arranged by Ben Clapton. Rock. Lead Sheet / Fake Book. 3 pages. Ben Clapton #4597303. Published by Ben Clapton (A0.842476). You Found Me was released by American rock band The Fray in 2008. It was their third single to sell 2 million downloads in the US, and marked The Fray's first number one hit in Australia. This is a lead sheet for the song, which has the melody and lyrics, and guitar chords. The song is written in B, and it has capo chords at capo 4 to utilise open chords. From Wikipedia:In an interview, lead singer and pianist Isaac Slade expressed his meaning behind the lyrics of the song:'You Found Me' is such a great song you should really listen to it. I love it as if it were my own child. The heart ache, the let down that comes with life. Sometimes you're let down, sometimes you're the one who lets someone else down. It gets hard to know who you can trust, who you can count on. This song came out of a tough time, and I'm still right in the thick of it. There's some difficult circumstances my family and friends have been going through over the past year or so and it can be overwhelming. It wears on me. It demands so much of my faith to keep believing, keep hoping in the unseen. Sometimes the tunnel has a light at the end, but usually they just look black as night. This song is about that feeling, and the hope that I still have, buried deep in my chest. In another interview Isaac Slade declared that:I kept getting these phone calls from home – tragedy after tragedy... If there is some kind of Person in charge of this planet – are they sleeping? Smoking? Where are they? I just imagined running into God standing on a street corner like Bruce Springsteen, smoking a cigarette, and I'd have it out with Him.In a Reuters article about the album, Slade stated that the lyrics for You Found Me were written in 2007, and that the song asks about the problem of evil, why bad things happen to good people, after some of their friends and family went through very tough times. Many others say that the song represents the reason we cope with things and how abandonment plays a role in everyday life.
