My Country, 'Tis of Thee, also known as simply America, is an American patriotic song, the lyrics of which were written by Samuel Francis Smith. The song served as one of the de facto national anthems of the United States (along with songs like Hail, Columbia) before the adoption of The Star-Spangled Banner as the official U.S. national anthem in 1931. The melody used is adopted from the national anthem of the United Kingdom, God Save the King.

By Matthew Rybicki. By Matthew Rybicki. Arranged by Matthew Rybicki. Blues,Jazz. Lead Sheet / Fake Book. 1 pages. Published by Matthew Rybicki (A0.482324).

The blues sensibility resonates so deeply with me, and this tune comes straight from an attempt to imitate and assimilate the cadence, delivery, and phrasing of blues vocalists. In order to maintain interest for the listener, I wrote the piece to modulate key centers for each soloist. While this track has only myself and Gerald soloing, it's particularly fun to play live with multiple musicians getting turns in various keys. The title refers to a food dish in the Southeastern U.S.

The Devil's Elbow is a winding and picturesque section of road located in the Scottish Highlands. The road, also known as the A93, runs between the towns of Blairgowrie and Braemar, and is considered one of the most challenging and scenic drives in Scotland.

The origins of the name Devil's Elbow are unclear, but legend has it that the devil himself had a hand in shaping the road. According to folklore, the devil was tasked with creating a road through the hills of the Scottish Highlands, and he chose to build it along the most treacherous and winding path he could find. As he worked, he encountered a particularly difficult section of the road where the hills formed a sharp bend, and he bent the rocks to create a tight hairpin turn that became known as the Devil's Elbow.

In reality, the road was likely shaped by centuries of erosion and human activity. The section of road that makes up the Devil's Elbow is part of a larger route that has been used for centuries by traders, farmers, and travelers crossing the Scottish Highlands. The road was improved and expanded over time, and the modern A93 was officially completed in 1932.

Despite its treacherous reputation, the Devil's Elbow is a popular destination for tourists and driving enthusiasts. The road offers stunning views of the surrounding hills and valleys, and the hairpin turn at the Devil's Elbow is considered a particular challenge for drivers and cyclists.

Today, the Devil's Elbow remains a beloved part of Scotland's landscape and history, and its legend continues to capture the imaginations of visitors and locals alike. Whether you're a traveler seeking adventure or a history buff looking to explore Scotland's rich cultural heritage, the Devil's Elbow is a must-see destination that will leave a lasting impression.

Composed by Antonio Vivaldi. Arranged by Andre Maaker. Baroque,Classical. Lead Sheet / Fake Book. 4 pages. SheetMusicHub #345590. Published by SheetMusicHub (A0.737424).

This is a lead sheet style (melody/chords/form) notation of Allegro from The Spring / la Primavera by Antonio Vivaldi. Lead sheet by Andre Maaker. From Wikipedia: The Four Seasons (Italian: Le quattro stagioni) is a group of four violin concertos by Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi, each of which gives musical expression to a season of the year. These were composed around 1718−1720, when Vivaldi was the court chapel master in Mantua. They were published in 1725 in Amsterdam, together with eight additional concerti, as Il cimento dell'armonia e dell'inventione (The Contest Between Harmony and Invention). The Four Seasons is the best known of Vivaldi's works. Though three of the concerti are wholly original, the first, Spring, borrows patterns from a sinfonia in the first act of Vivaldi's contemporaneous opera Il Giustino. The inspiration for the concertos is not the countryside around Mantua, as initially supposed, where Vivaldi was living at the time, since according to Karl Heller they could have been written as early as 1716–1717, while Vivaldi was engaged with the court of Mantua only in 1718. They were a revolution in musical conception: in them Vivaldi represented flowing creeks, singing birds (of different species, each specifically characterized), a shepherd and his barking dog, buzzing flies, storms, drunken dancers, hunting parties from both the hunters' and the prey's point of view, frozen landscapes, and warm winter fires. #vivaldi #fourseasons #sheetmusic.

The song, released in the fall of 1959, went on to become a massive hit in both genres early in 1960. The song is about a man who's talking by telephone to the woman he loves, when he realizes that another man is with her. The recording features a small group of musicians: Floyd Cramer on piano, Marvin Hughes on the vibraphone, Bob Moore on bass, Buddy Harman on drums, Hank Garland on guitar, and the Anita Kerr Singers providing the background vocals. Country music historian Bill Malone noted that He'll Have to Go in most respects represented a conventional country song, but its arrangement and the vocal chorus put this recording in the country pop vein. In addition, Malone lauded Reeves' vocal styling - lowered to its natural resonant level to project the caressing style that became famous - as being why many people refer to him as the singer with the velvet touch..

By Kenny Rogers. By Don Schlitz. Arranged by John Fries. 20th Century,Country,Pop,Standards. Lead Sheet / Fake Book. 2 pages. John Fries #997392. Published by John Fries (A0.1415672).

TYPE JOHN FRIES IN THE SEARCH BAR TO SEE ALL I HAVE TO OFFER. Thanks, John. The Gambler is a song written by Don Schlitz and recorded by several artists, most famously by American country singer Kenny Rogers. Schlitz wrote the song in 1976 when he was 23 years old. It took two years of shopping the song around Nashville before Bobby Bare recorded it on his album Bare at the urging of Shel Silverstein. Bare's version did not catch on and was never released as a single, so Schlitz recorded it himself, but that version failed to chart higher than No. 65. Other musicians took notice and recorded the song in 1978, including Johnny Cash, who put it on his album Gone Girl. It was Rogers, however, who made the song a mainstream success. His version was a No. 1 country hit, and made its way to the pop charts at a time when country songs rarely crossed over. It was released in November 1978 as the title track from his album The Gambler, and won him the Grammy Award for Best Male Country Vocal Performance in 1980.
