I Thought About You is a 1939 popular song composed by Jimmy Van Heusen with lyrics by Johnny Mercer. It was one of three collaborations Van Heusen and Mercer wrote for the Mercer-Morris publishing company started by Mercer and former Warner Bros. publisher Buddy Morris. The other two were called Blue Rain and Make with the Kisses. I Thought About You was by far the most popular of the songs. The lyrics were inspired by Mercer's train trip to Chicago.

It was written (along with Sleigh Ride in July) for the 1944 film Belle of the Yukon, where it was sung by Dinah Shore. It was a hit for Bing Crosby in March 1945, reaching #15, and has since become a jazz standard.

The song was written for Frank Sinatra. It was introduced in the film A Hole in the Head where Sinatra sings it in the opening credits. According to the Mel Tormé book The Other Side of the Rainbow with Judy Garland on the Dawn Patrol, Van Heusen originally wrote the song for Garland to sing at a CBS dinner. At that time, Garland had just signed to do The Judy Garland Show on CBS, and the intent of the song was to parody her well-known problems.

Come Fly with Me was written for Frank Sinatra and was the title track of his 1958 album of the same name. The song sets the tone for the rest of the album, describing adventures in exotic locales, in Bombay, Peru and Acapulco Bay as the Jet Age began. It subsequently became part of Sinatra's concert repertoire, and would feature in numerous performances.
