C Instrument - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1137543 By Bruno Mars. By Andrew Wyatt, Ari Levine, Bruno Mars, and Philip Lawrence. Arranged by Sabrina Khuzaimi. Hip-Hop,Pop,R & B,Singer/Songwriter,Wedding. Lead Sheet / Fake Book. 2 pages. Sabrina Khuzaimi #737730. Published by Sabrina Khuzaimi (A0.1137543). This arrangement is actually a lead sheet for the vocals. It could also be use for any other instruments that wanted to use the melody part only for your show. I didn't follow the exact melody as it could be hard for the beginners to play it. I hope this piece could help you play the song that you always wanted to play! Bette Midler made the song famous when she recorded it for her 1979 film The Rose, in which it plays during the closing credits. Amanda McBroom recalls, I wrote it in 1977 [or] 1978, and I sang it occasionally in clubs. ... Jim Nabors had a local talk show, and I sang [The Rose] on his show once. According to McBroom, she wrote The Rose in response to her manager's suggestion that she write some Bob Seger-type tunes to expedite a record deal: McBroom obliged by writing The Rose in 45 minutes.

Their manager advised them to take a short break from their work and go to a movie theater to see the film. Richard and Karen were immediately taken with this song and agreed that it should be the follow-up to their previous hits. After returning home, they recorded it, released it in December, and it went gold in only two months. The Carpenters' success with this song helped it win the 1970 Oscar for Best Song.
