Sing It Back — Contemporary rock/pop ensemble By Róisín Murphy, Mark Errington Brydon. Arranged by Dan Ford and Luke Greenhalgh for contemporary rock/pop ensemble, including parts for rhythm section, tenor saxophone, alto saxophone, and trombone. This arrangement is gig-tested and designed for ease of reading during the heat of a live gig. All parts include chord changes for improvised solos or embellishment of backing parts. N.B. This arrangement does not include lyrics, the melody, or a vocal part. The parts are designed for live performance with a vocalist that knows the melody and lyrics. Moloko were the highly popular Irish-English electronic music duo from England, and their song Sing It Back became a huge hit in 1999. This arrangement features a combined Rhythm Section part with clear chord spellings and rhythmic cues for bass guitar, drum kit, guitar, and piano to follow. Additionally, the alto and tenor saxophone and trombone parts include a combination of three part divisi backing lines and unison figures. The arrangement is inspired by the performance of Australian band Cosmo's Midnight, performed in 2019 on Triple J’s Like A Version, and includes an open repeated section over the form for improvised solos.
