Small Ensemble Alto Recorder,Soprano Recorder,Tenor Recorder - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.576411 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by David Warin Solomons. Contemporary,Folk,World. Score and parts. 15 pages. David Warin Solomons #22845. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576411). Arrangement of the jolly and satirical North German folk song about a herring, who found that a flounder was in love with him: he wasn't interested until the flounder found some treasure, then, of course, he married her immediately - typical! == There are five versions available: === In einen Harung for 4 part choir === In einen Harung for clarinet quartet === In einen Harung for woodwind quartet === In einen Harung for string quartet === In einen Harung for recorder quartet === The instrumental versions are slightly more complex than the (relatively) simple choral one and also rise a tone (pop style) in the final verse). === For the instrumental versions the pdf contains score and parts === In each case the sound sample is an electronic preview.

Alto Recorder,Baritone Recorder,Soprano Recorder,Tenor Recorder - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1137249 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ander. Classical,Film/TV,Instructional,March,Romantic Period. Recorder Ensemble. 14 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #737449. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1137249). This arrangement adapted for recorder quartet was written keeping the characteristics of the original work, in order to be performed by young music students who want to enter the symphonic music. Besides, it can also be used by professional musicians, for recitals, repertoire, academic presentations and didactic material. As much as it is a funeral march, it is well suited for any musical performance occasion. The transcription is faithful to the structure, with only one change of key, so that it is comfortable for all the instruments in the formation, as well as for use in ensemble practice between musicians of different traditions. Ludwig van Beethoven began concentrated work on his Symphony No. 7 in A major Op. 92 in 1811, it was completed in 1812, and was dedicated to Count Moritz von Fries, and premiered in Vienna on December 8, 1813. It is considered a remarkable example of the more ebullient side of Beethoven's compositional personality and evidence that even after the onset of deafness, he still found cause for musical optimism. The second movement Allegretto is a funeral march in everything but name. Often several contrasting melodic ideas are made to coexist, as if Beethoven were imagining several processions converging on the cemetery at the same time. As he was working on this symphony during the years of the Napoleonic Wars, this experience was probably within his experience. It was also used as the soundtrack to the film Knowing, by director Alex Proyas and starring Nicolas Cage, where it is used in the final scene of the film. Beethoven called Symphony No. 7 his most excellent symphony, and a music critic of the time reported, this symphony is the most melodically rich and the most pleasing and comprehensible of all Beethoven's symphonies..

Recorder Quartet Recorder - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1141020 Composed by Luigi Boccherini. Arranged by Ander. Baroque,Classical,Instructional,Traditional,Wedding. Recorder Ensemble. 7 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #741275. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1141020). This simple arrangement adapted for recorder quartet was imagined for a group of beginner students who want to start their immersion in classical music, of course with the help of a teacher. Even though the original work is for strings, this did not prevent this beautiful adaptation, where the original essence of the work was maintained, being made only an adaptation of the tonality and some adaptations in the tessitura of the instruments. This piece can be used for professional and academic recitals, didactic material and repertoire for ensemble practice as well, which does not prevent professional musicians and instructors from using it for performances of their preference. Luigi Boccherini was born in the city of Lucca, in northern Italy. He studied cello and became a virtuoso who eventually moved to Spain, where he worked with the Spanish royal family for the rest of his life. His String Quintet in E major, Op. 11, No. 5, G 275, was written in 1771 and published in 1775, and is one of his most famous works. The quintet is famous for its minuet and trio, third movement which is often played as an independent piece outside the context of the full quintet. This is notably the most famous, it is in 3/4 time, in the key of E Major modulating to A Major. This is a beautiful work, and not just the third movement, with good partial writing for all. The lovely, flowing melodies and rhythms are typical of Boccherini. The quintet is suitable for both concerts and home performances.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.903300 By Keith Terrett. By Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Keith Terrett. Baroque,Classical,Praise & Worship. 15 pages. Keith Terrett #509473. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.903300). A transcription of J.S. Bach's Duet from Cantata Number BWW 140.6 transribed for Recorder Quartet consisting of two Alto's, Tenor & Bass Recorder. The sixth movement, Mein Freund ist mein! (My Friend is mine!), is another duet for soprano and bass with obbligato oboe. This duet, like the third movement, is a love duet between the soprano Soul and the bass Jesus.Gardiner notes that Bach uses the means of contemporary operatic love-duets in his use of chains of suspensions and parallel thirds and sixths. Dürr describes it as giving expression to the joy of the united pair, showing a relaxed mood in artistic intensity. Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme ('Awake, calls the voice to us'),[1] BWV 140, also known as Sleepers Wake, is a church cantata by Johann Sebastian Bach, regarded as one of his most mature and popular sacred cantatas. He composed the chorale cantata in Leipzig for the 27th Sunday after Trinity and first performed it on 25 November 1731. Bach composed this cantata to complete his second annual cycle of chorale cantatas, begun in 1724. The cantata is based on the hymn in three stanzas Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme (1599) by Philipp Nicolai, which covers the prescribed reading for the Sunday, the parable of the Ten Virgins. The text and tune of the three stanzas of the hymn appears unchanged in three of seven movements (1, 4 and 7). An unknown author supplied additional poetry for the inner movements as sequences of recitative and duet, based on the love poetry of the Song of Songs. Bach structured the cantata in seven movements, setting the first stanza as a chorale fantasia, the second stanza in the central movement in the style of a chorale prelude, and the third stanza as a four-part chorale. He set the new texts as dramatic recitatives and love-duets, similar to contemporary opera. Bach scored the work for three vocal soloists (soprano, tenor and bass), a four-part choir and a Baroque instrumental ensemble consisting of a horn (to reinforce the soprano), two oboes, taille, violino piccolo, strings and basso continuo including bassoon. Bach used the central movement of the cantata as the basis for the first of his Schübler Chorales, BWV 645. Bach scholar Alfred Dürr notes that the cantata is an expression of Christian mysticism in art, while William G. Whittaker calls it a cantata without weaknesses, without a dull bar, technically, emotionally and spiritually of the highest order, its sheer perfection and its boundless imagination rouse one's wonder time and time again.

Alto Recorder,Bass Recorder,Soprano Recorder,Tenor Recorder - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1138452 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ander. Christmas,Classical,Instructional,March,Romantic Period. Recorder Ensemble. 15 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #738788. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1138452). This arrangement adapted for recorder quartet was designed to make its listeners weep with emotion, because the adaptation preserves the original essence of the work, keeping its integrity faithful to what Beethoven wanted to transmit, with only a slight change in tone and addition of harmonic resources in the structure of the arrangement. Even though it is a funeral march, it is well suited for any musical performance occasion, being intended for beginner students who want to immerse themselves in the universe of romantic music, and nothing better than starting with the transitional composer of this period, which also does not prevent professional teachers from using it for recitals, academic presentations or didactic material in their classes as an ensemble practice. Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14 in C minor sharp, Op. 27, No. 2, is one of his most popular compositions and was an audience favorite even in his day. Written when Beethoven was 31, the Moonlight Sonata (Mondscheinsonate in German) was composed after he finished some commissioned works, but there is no evidence that he was hired to write this work. It did not receive its nickname until 1832, five years after Beethoven's death. It was the critic Ludwig Rellstab who compared the music to a moonlighting on Lake Lucerne. This comparison was adopted as a nickname for the work. Called Quasi una fantasia by the author - like its companion Op. 27, No. 1 - the piece was completed in 1801 and dedicated the following year to one of the composer's pupils. Beethoven chose to open the sonata with a slow, hypnotic arpeggio movement, the best known of the entire work. The dotted rhythm of its minimal melody evokes the tradition of 'Trauermusik' (funeral music).

Recorder - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.898101 Composed by Mauro GIULIANI (1781-1828). Arranged by Douglas Brooks-Davies. Romantic Period,Standards. Recorder Ensemble. 46 pages. Douglas Brooks-Davies #3436331. Published by Douglas Brooks-Davies (A0.898101).  Among the many compositions for guitar by the celebrated guitarist Mauro Giuliani (1781-1828) is a collection of 16 charmingly tuneful dances, published under the title La Tersicore del Nord (The Northern Tersicore, this being the name of the ancient Greek muse of the dance), thereby suggesting that Giuliani felt the collection to be inspired in some way by what he understood to be a northern European spirit. Here are six of them, nos 6, 7, 10, 11, 12 and 13, arranged for recorder quartet - soprano (descant), alto (treble), tenor and bass. The melodies are Giuliani's, the rest is mine, each part being given some at least of the fun in these engaging pieces. Tempo indications are also editorial. The guitar original - treble line with occasional accompanying notes or chords - can be found at IMSLP.

Classical,Wedding. Recorder Ensemble. 46 pages. Austin Ralphson #6462667. Published by Austin Ralphson (A0.564284). Mozart composed 12 variations for piano (based on the french melody) when he was 25. I have arranged them carefully here to ensure that they work successfully for this group. Note: The players in the ensemble can choose to perform as few or as many of the variations as they wish. Some are more demanding to play than others, and some feature soloists. The THEME should always be played at the beginning, however. This arrangement is for 2 descant, 1 treble, 1 tenor and 1 bass recorder.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet - Digital Download SKU: A0.1343612 Composed by Adolf Jackel. Arranged by Paul Kajzar. Romantic Period. 7 pages. Paul Kajzar, Gyllcott Music #929136. Published by Paul Kajzar, Gyllcott Music (A0.1343612). An arrangement for recorder quartet (2 trebles, tenor, bass) of Maienzauber (translates as “May Magicâ€), originally composed for four horns. Biographical details regarding Adolf Jackel are very limited, but it seems likely that he was active as a composer during the second half of the 19th century and into the early part of the 20th. This is a short movement with an almost hymn-like quality in places, and might be helpful to players who want to concentrate on intonation and ensemble or just want something straightforward to warm up on. The set comprises full score and parts. Difficulty level : Easy/Intermediate.
