(8 part Double Trombone Choir) - This work was composed for and premiered at the 2005 International Euphonium Institute and adapted for trombones in 2023. The work is in one movement with four sections. The first and last sections are Allegro and explore antiphonal choir echoes and pyramids. The second section is Adagio and continues the antiphonal echoes between choirs and adds a fading echo in several measures. The third section explores echoes in a scherzo style.

Heinrich Schutz's Lord, who is thy guide but Thee is an anthem for double mixed chorus that has been arranged for 8-part Trombone Ensemble by James Bates.

This fine work from the Baroque era is antiphonal (two choirs of four) with polyphony, imitation, dynamic contrasts and has a lively feel. Appropriate for moderately advanced performers.

The four Chorales are about 9 minutes total in length and may be performed successfully as an entire unit or separately.

Fanfare for the PaleoBones for 8-part Trombone Choir is an exciting new original composition by Jeff Reynolds. The PaleoBones is a group of trombonists from northern California led by Jeff Reynolds who gather for special occasions to play glorious sounding works for Trombone Choir.

The Fanfare is about 3 minutes in length. Mr. Reynolds explores several creative ideas including syncopations of rhythms, whole tone scale patterns, and the infamous Dies Irae chant theme, adding up to an exciting and interesting work to perform and listen to. The work is appropriate for advanced performers.

The instrumentation features 5 tenors, 2 basses and 1 contrabass trombone.

This is a transcription for trombone ensemble of the complete William Tell Overture, written by Gioacchino Rossini, dedicated to the Szeged Trombone Ensemble (SETREN) and further arranged for the Eastman Trombone Choir. In reimagining the work for trombone octet, American composer P. F. Strohm has kept the piece in the original orchestral keys, and retained all the flourish and drama of the original work. The opening Dawn and Storm, the lovely Pastorale, and the touchstone Finale are all there. This tour de force work comes in two different versions, one for eight players (as arranged for SETREN), and this one for large ensembles of 16 or more players (as arranged for the Eastman Trombone Choir). Both  versions have eight parts, and are intended for trombone ensembles with the highest levels of technique and musicianship.  Advanced level of difficulty, with a performance time of 11:45. Te Deum, written by Hector Berlioz was conceived as the conclusion to a grand symphony celebrating Napoleon, but ultimately, the piece was dedicated to Prince Albert, the husband of Queen Victoria. Berlioz considered the Te Deum to fall into his ‘architectural or monumental’ musical compositions which is true, given that Berlioz led musical forces between 900-950 performers at the initial 1855 performance!

Judex Crederis is the last movement of the Te Deum and represents one of Berlioz’s most dramatic works. As with many of Berlioz’s large works, the trombone plays a prominent role in the movement. After the spectacular organ introduction, the brass enters, led by the six trombones in a brief fanfare that introduces the chorus. This glorious ‘moment’ inspired the arrangement for a monumental trombone choir with organ. The original trombone parts are included essentially unchanged, with the other parts covering the chorus and instruments.

The work brilliantly arranged by Marc Williams is intended for accomplished performers and provides ample musical challenges and rewards for the performers and audience alike.
