Flute Choir,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Flute,Bass Flute,Piccolo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1230266 Composed by Sarah Wallin Huff. 21st Century,Contemporary,New Age,Religious. 34 pages. Novel Soundtrax #825987. Published by Novel Soundtrax (A0.1230266). This original work creatively weaves the beloved Amazing Grace melody in and out of a second original tune titled In the Forest, evoking a meditative and melancholy sense of wandering and reflection, as if hidden from the outside world. This composition, originally for string quartet, was composed in 2011 at the request of Danielle Rosaria Cummins and the organization Alternate Avenues. In 2023, Wallin Huff got the opportunity to rework this piece for a flute choir, enabling the sweeping lines to be fleshed out with the gentle tones of 8 flutes.

You’ll need some strong players on the low flutes as they drive the rhythm. You can optionally cut back to one player on the Flute 1 part in ms. 11-17 and 53-59 to balance with the piccolo. The piece runs 3 ½ minutes and is quite accessible. The repeated notes have to be short and crisp and there is a bit of syncopation.

Flute Choir,Woodwind Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1449511 Composed by Sy Brandon. 21st Century,Chamber,Contest,Festival. 45 pages. Sy Brandon #1029267. Published by Sy Brandon (A0.1449511). Cascades is a three-movement composition for flute choir that represents both the waterfall definition of the word and the mountain range in the Pacific Northwest. The first movement represents Multnomah Falls, the tallest waterfall in Oregon. It drops 635 feet in two tiers. The music has cascading musical figures as well as sense of power and beauty. Mt. Hood is the inspiration for second movement. Standing at 11,249 feet above sea level, this majestic mountain is dramatically visible from the valley floor and is snow covered most of the year. The music of this movement depicts the rising from the valley floor with its low to high orchestration. The almost symmetrical shape is represented by descending lines after the two climaxes. The third movement is a reminder of the relatively youngness of the Cascade mountain range. In 1980, Mt. St. Helens erupted, causing catastrophic damage to the surrounding area and loss of lives. What remains of this former symmetrical mountain is a large crater as a reminder of the volatile nature of the Cascade Range. The music of this movement is filled with tension, from the seismic tremors of the first part to the eruption itself in the second part. A final cascade, this time depicting lava flow rather than a waterfall, brings both the movement and the composition to a close.

Woodwind Ensemble Flute - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.778282 Composed by Greg Danner. 20th Century,Contemporary. 80 pages. Avanti Music #2967835. Published by Avanti Music (A0.778282). Twitter, founded in March of 2006, is a social networking and micro-blogging service that allows users to post short messages of no more that 140 characters. Because it works as an application on cell phones people can share information immediately.  In its short time, Twitter has become embedded in our increasingly networked society. The composition Twitter takes five famous tweets-some serious, others funny, and some historic and presents a musical interpretation.  In keeping with the idea that a tweet is a short message, each movement of Twitter is approximately 140 seconds long. 1.  There’s a plane in the Hudson.  I’m on the ferry going to pick up the people.  Crazy.  Janis Krums, 12:36 p.m. Jan15, 2009Janis Krums posted this text and the first photo of US Airways flight 1549 moments after the plane made an emergency landing in the Hudson River after hitting a flock of birds.  His quick action helped to notify rescue workers and the media.  2.  Today I interviewed a squirrel in my backyard and then threw to commercial.  Somebody help me.Conan O’Brien, 3:54 p.m. Feb. 24, 2009 Shortly after being dismissed from the Tonight Show and finding himself in-between jobs, Conan O’Brien joined Twitter.  As with many celebrities, a Twitter account can allow fans to stay in touch and feel connected.  What was amazing in this case was that in just two hours after this first tweet he had over 125,000 followers-the largest number ever in such a short time.  His number has since grown to nearly 3 million. 3.  ArrestedJames Buck, 9:30 a.m. April  10 A graduate student from the University of California-Berkeley, James Buck was covering an anti-government protest in Egypt.  Buck was caught up in a demonstration, and while being taken to jail had time to post a one-word tweet-arrested.  Within seconds colleagues in the United States got word of his arrest and notified the university, the US Embassy, and a number of press organizations on his behalf, leading to his freedom. 4.  We just made history.  All of this happened because you gave your time, talent and passion.  All of this happened because of you.  Thanks. Barack Obama, 11:34 a.m. Nov. 5, 2008 The Obama 2008 campaign was historic on a number of counts, and the use of technology and social media was one of them.  This tweet was sent to over 2.6 million followers just after the election. 5.  Are you ready to celebrate? Adaptation of Tuba Mirum, one of the most amazing piece of Mozart's Requiem KV 626, in the Süssmayr version. This piece is adapted to intermediate level. And the piece ends with a delicate choral mixing 8 voices.4 C flutes and 2 alto flutes minimum, better for 6 C flutes or flute choir with alto flutes (no bass or contrabass flute needed).Downloaded file contains score as well as separate parts. For more about our flute choir: https://www.facebook.com/coeurdeflutesIf you like this work, please consider supporting writing of new pieces here: https://www.patreon.com/FredC

Woodwind Ensemble Flute - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813987 Composed by Franz Xaver Gruber. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Christmas,Instructional,Multicultural,World. 11 pages. Regis Bookshar #6636631. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813987). Flute Octet - Intermediate - Digital Download. This arrangement of Silent Night, or in German, Stille Nacht, would be a wonderful addition to any music library and could be performed for Christmas concerts, recitals, and, especially, church services. It is equally suitable for junior and senior high school students and even older musicians. Depending on their ability, younger musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (11 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time.Silent Night is probably the most popular Christmas carol ever written. It was composed in 1818 by Franz Xaver Gruber to lyrics by Joseph Mohr and was first performed on Christmas Eve at St. Nicholas parish church in Oberndorf, a small village in present-day Austria. A young Catholic priest, Father Joseph Mohr, had written the poem, Stille Nacht, in 1816 and had gone to Oberndorf in 1817. The melody was composed by Franz Xaver Gruber, schoolmaster and organist in the nearby village of Arnsdorf. On Christmas Eve, 1818, Mohr brought the words to Gruber and asked him to compose a melody and guitar accompaniment for that night's mass, after river flooding had possibly damaged the church organ. The church was eventually destroyed by repeated flooding and has since been replaced with the Silent-Night-Chapel.According to Gruber, Karl Mauracher, an organ builder who serviced the instrument at the Oberndorf church, was enamored with the song, and took the composition home with him to the Ziller Valley in Tyrol, Austria. From there, two traveling families of folk singers, the Strassers and the Rainers, included the tune in their shows. The Rainers were already singing it around Christmas, 1819, and once performed it for an audience that included Franz I of Austria and Alexander I of Russia. They also gave the first performance of the song in the United States in New York City in 1839. By the 1840's, the song was well known and was reported to be a favorite of Frederick William IV of Prussia. During this period, the melody changed slightly to become the version that is commonly heard today. The version of the melody that is generally used today is a slow, meditative lullaby, or pastoral, differing slightly from Gruber's original which has a moderate tempo. The song has been translated into about 140 languages and has been recorded by many singers across many music genres. The version sung by Bing Crosby in 1935, has sold over 10 million copies as a single. In this arrangement of Silent Night, Regis Bookshar has kept the basic form of this familiar Christmas carol, but has also included a descant during the third verse. Also, in addition to this version for a Flute Octet, there are other arrangements of Silent Night available for a variety of instrumental ensembles. There are Quintets and Octets readily available for purchase. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that might also suit your needs.I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a wide variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I'm certain that this wonderful arrangement of Silent Night will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.
