Flute Choir,Woodwind Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1449511 Composed by Sy Brandon. 21st Century,Chamber,Contest,Festival. 45 pages. Sy Brandon #1029267. Published by Sy Brandon (A0.1449511). Cascades is a three-movement composition for flute choir that represents both the waterfall definition of the word and the mountain range in the Pacific Northwest. The first movement represents Multnomah Falls, the tallest waterfall in Oregon. It drops 635 feet in two tiers. The music has cascading musical figures as well as sense of power and beauty. Mt. Hood is the inspiration for second movement. Standing at 11,249 feet above sea level, this majestic mountain is dramatically visible from the valley floor and is snow covered most of the year. The music of this movement depicts the rising from the valley floor with its low to high orchestration. The almost symmetrical shape is represented by descending lines after the two climaxes. The third movement is a reminder of the relatively youngness of the Cascade mountain range. In 1980, Mt. St. Helens erupted, causing catastrophic damage to the surrounding area and loss of lives. What remains of this former symmetrical mountain is a large crater as a reminder of the volatile nature of the Cascade Range. The music of this movement is filled with tension, from the seismic tremors of the first part to the eruption itself in the second part. A final cascade, this time depicting lava flow rather than a waterfall, brings both the movement and the composition to a close.

Flute Choir,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Flute,Bass Flute,Piccolo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.817947 Composed by Gioachino Rosssini. Arranged by Adrian Dee. Multicultural,Romantic Period,World. 110 pages. Adrian Dee #6587987. Published by Adrian Dee (A0.817947). Magpie was premiered at La Scala opera house in Milan, Italy on May 31, 1817 and was an immediate success.  The overture has become a staple of the orchestral repertoire, as have many Rosssini overtures. In this arrangement, I have omitted the famous snare drum roll at the beginning, opting instead to stick with just the flute choir instruments. I also simplified the opening rhythmic figure in the interest of ease of consistency across the ensemble. Much of the orchestral piccolo part, often seen in auditions, is preserved in the piccolo part here and I have kept the piece in its original keys. The piece is typical Rossini: lively, challenging, and fun. The total play time is aprox. 9:45. I’d love to hear your feedback!  adriandeeflute@gmail.com

Flute Choir,Woodwind Ensemble Flute,Piccolo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1489670 Composed by Traditional Venezuelan Carol. Arranged by Constance Clark. Chamber,Children,Christmas,Holiday,Traditional. 14 pages. Constance Clark #1066542. Published by Constance Clark (A0.1489670). Mi Burrito Sabanero is a traditional Venezuelan children's carol. This beginner/intermediate C flute choir arrangement is festive and bright, sure to please flutists and audiences alike. Piccolo, 3 C flutes, and an optional beginner flute part.  Flute 1-3 carry the load here, and piccolo adds great cheer. The easy flute part allows you to include even your newest beginners. It only contains 5 notes: C, B, A, G, F#. The rhythm can be learned as a groove even if the students can't quite count it yet. I recommend listening and learning to sing the carol instead of focusing on the difficult rhythms.I’d love to hear from you if you are considering or playing this piece. Flute Choir,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Flute,Bass Flute,Piccolo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.930851 Composed by Sergei Taneyev. Arranged by Jeff McKeehan. Multicultural,Romantic Period,World. 27 pages. Jeff McKeehan #5968569. Published by Jeff McKeehan (A0.930851). Sunrise was originally composed as a choral work. It takes us from the still of night, just before the first hints of dawn, and carries us on a powerful, joyous journey to the bright promise of a new day. It's truly a breathtaking work in the Russian Romantic style.Chorus members of a certain age may know this piece as Sunrise in the Orient, with English lyrics translated from the original Russian. The piccolo descant part may be omitted. Bass flutes may be divided between the bass and contra parts if desired.Sergei Taneyev was a brilliant composer and music theorist. Tchaikovsky regarded him as both a close friend and a trustworthy critic of his own compositions, and sought Taneyev's feedback on a regular basis.

Flute Choir,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Flute,Bass Flute - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.817937 Composed by Michael Praetorius (1571-1621). Arranged by Adrian Dee. Contemporary,Praise & Worship,Renaissance,Wedding. 10 pages. Adrian Dee #3511601. Published by Adrian Dee (A0.817937). This piece was originally written for vocal ensemble (Cantus I, Cantus II, Altus, Tenor I, Tenor II, Basso) and is typical of Praetorius’ flowing counterpoint and mellifluous harmonies. It would be a lovely addition to a wedding or similar ceremony, or for a quiet meditative moment in a religious service or concert program. The notes are easy, making this piece an excellent opportunity to focus on ensemble skills, such as balance and intonation. The work is only about a minute and a half in length. You might want to experiment with repeating the entire work, possibly with the top four voices (Flutes 1 & 2, alto, bass 1) up an octave. The tempo marking is only a guideline; do what feels right for your ensemble.  The contrabass part may be covered by a third regular bass flute.Let me know what you think! adriandeeflute@gmail.com

Flute Choir,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Flute,Bass Flute,Piccolo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1478241 By Stephanie Pack. By Stephanie Pack. Chamber. 33 pages. Stephanie Pack #1055611. Published by Stephanie Pack (A0.1478241). Imagine Pluto as a living being, journeying through the cosmos with a heart full of dreams. For decades, Pluto basked in the joy and pride of being called a planet, a respected member of the Solar System family. Pluto felt the warmth and camaraderie of its planetary siblings, sharing the vast expanse of space with a sense of belonging. But then, the day came when scientists re-evaluated their criteria for what constitutes a planet. Pluto, once brimming with pride, was told it no longer fit the mold. The news struck like a comet, leaving Pluto feeling isolated and heartbroken. The title of 'planet' was stripped away, and Pluto's status was reduced to that of a mere dwarf planet. In the shadow of its larger, more recognized siblings, Pluto felt a profound sadness. It lingered on the fringes of the Solar System, its sense of identity shattered. However, as time passed, a new understanding began to emerge. The term 'dwarf planet' was created, acknowledging Pluto's unique characteristics and the role it plays in our cosmic neighborhood.Pluto's sorrow began to lift, replaced by a sense of renewed purpose and pride. It found solace in this new classification, realizing that it wasn't forgotten or insignificant. As a dwarf planet, Pluto embraced its identity, feeling a sense of happiness and validation. It stood out in its own right, celebrated for its distinctiveness and contribution to our understanding of the universe.Pluto's journey, filled with emotional highs and lows, ultimately led to a place of acceptance and joy. It taught us all a lesson in resilience and the importance of valuing every member of our celestial family, no matter how small or different they may seem.Parts for Piccolo, 2 C Flutes, 2 Alto Flutes with C flute alternatives, 2 Bass Flutes, and ContraBass Flute.

Woodwind Ensemble Flute - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.736289 Composed by Phyllis Avidan Louke, ASCAP. 20th Century,Contemporary. 62 pages. Louke Publishing #4405244. Published by Louke Publishing (A0.736289). For Flute Choir Cloud Images By Phyllis Avidan Louke Cloud Images is a programmatic work in five movements for Flute Choir dedicated to Albert Weatherly of Sankyo Flutes, USA. The inspiration for this piece came from the beauty of the cloud formations observed during a long plane flight.  Movement 1, Rising Above the Clouds, features a soaring melody played first by the bass and alto flute over an ostinato played by the flutes. The piccolo adds a countermelody which contributes to the feeling of being above the clouds. (1:30)  Movement 2, Billowing Clouds, features a melody in 7/8 time, alternating with another in 6/8 time, to convey the the shape and roundness of clouds.   (2:00) Movement 3, Oh Look! There’s an Alligator!, is a whimsical look at the different shapes that can be found in clouds. A running bass line in the bass flute supports a jaunty melody which seems to be on the prowl to find various shapes in the clouds. Several different animal shapes are seen: a hippo, an elephant, and finally, an alligator. Vocals can also be utilized in this movement to better communicate these animal shapes to the audience. (2:20)  Movement 4, With Your Head in the Clouds, is in a light-hearted soft shoe style. The melodies describe the feeling of skipping through life, not having a care in the world. For a Lawrence Welk ending, one of the players with rests can blow bubbles during the last measure. (1:40)  Movement 5, Through a Sea of Clouds, has a dream-like quality imagining what it would be like to travel through a sea of clouds and touch their whispy softness. The bass flute is prominently featured, and later joined by the alto flute. The piccolo adds the frosting on top. (2:30)   Phyllis Avidan Louke is a flutist and award-winning composer and arranger with more than 70 published pieces to her credit. www.phyllislouke.com

Flute Choir - 4 flutes, alto, bass - Intermediate-Advanced - Digital Download SKU: F2.FM036 Composed by Edvard Grieg. Arranged by Robert Rainford. Score and parts. 10 pages. Forton Music - Digital #FM036. Published by Forton Music - Digital (F2.FM036). ISBN 9790708085355.Flute Choir/Ensemble - 4 Flutes, alto flute, bass flute. An ideal piece for the less experienced flute choir. 44 bars long in G major with an Allegretto tempo marking, this was originally a choral piece which has been transcribed for flute choir. Flute one and two reach top G, whilst the third and fourth part go no higher than 2nd octave D (although there are some A#'s to deal with). The alto and bass parts are very simple, allowing players less certain on these instruments to find their feet. The second half of this piece is an identical repeat of the first half, with flute one changing material with flute two, and flute three changing with flute 4. A useful concert piece.
