In the piece there is even additional divisions to help create more texture and colors in parts 3 & 4, yet remaining simple and true but sounding beautiful , what flutes should sound like.Great for studying flutist, to high school and college students. Flute choir groups, etcwould be a great addition for your ensemble, whether playing at a recital, concert, church and other spiritual events, graduation, weddings, etc. This would also be a great tool or warm up for balance and shaping sound, volume, color, blending, phrasing and other important technique builders for your group.You'll love this arrangement   ,and so will the flutists and your audience!

This is a rather long piece (about 22 minutes) - but quite amenable to breaking it up any number of ways (by month, quarter, etc).  I wrote this over the course of the Covid shutdown, when we were pretty much housebound for long periods.  It's divided into 12 sections, one for each month, beginning in March 2020 - when we here in Canada first found out about the approaching pandemic.  I tried to represent each month as it affected me - some sadder, some a bit more optimistic.  I especially like December - mostly sad, with a brief reprieve for Christmas, then back to sad.  In this neck of the woods, Christmas was all but cancelled as we were pretty much in lockdown;  at the last minute, restrictions were eased to allow small gatherings for the Holiday.  Overall, it was a sad, lonely year - especially for musicians!  Whatever your personal stance on the pandemic, it certainly affected us all - and resulted in the loss of many lives.

This arrangement for flute choir is a transcription of Derric Johnson's arrangement with an added key change and extra running eighths by me to create a fuller harmony that I felt was better suited for instrumental music. It is a combination of Still Still Still with a hint of Hark the Herald Angels Sing. This arrangement is great for groups with intermediate musical skill. Scored for 4 C, alto, bass, and contrabass flutes. There is an optional cello part that doubles the contrabass. If your group does no have a contrabass flute, it could also be substituted by any C instrument in a similar range, like a bassoon. Duration: 3.5 minutes.

Neglet Music #983102. Published by Neglet Music (A0.1399878). This is the best-known of all the variations from Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. Its slow, romantic melody perfectly suited it for the movies, and it most notably appeared as the love theme in the 1980 film Somewhere in Time. The original piece was scored for piano and orchestra; this version has been arranged for a small flute choir of one bass flute, two alto flutes, and three C flutes (who all get a chance at the melody). For groups who may not have multiple low flutes available, the arrangement includes an optional Flute 4 part to double the first alto part. The individual parts are not that technically difficult, but players will need to watch for the occasional syncopated rhythm or duplet/triplet in opposition. Ideal for high school groups and above, it's sure to be a crowd pleaser!

Walt Disney’s movie, Disenchanted, is the long-awaited sequel to Enchanted.  Alan Menken, one of my favorite composers, wrote the music for it, and it certainly did not disappoint the audience.Fairytale Life (The Wish) is the first part of the two-part song, sung by Giselle (Amy Adams).  Things aren’t quite fairytale-ish, and living happily ever after seemed to have been just temporary.  At the end of the song, Giselle realizes that if she wants happiness, she is responsible for making it happen.This piece is scored for 4 altos, 2 basses, and contrabass flutes.  There is an optional double string bass part that doubles the contrabass, and can be played by any other C instrument in the same range.  It is suited for musicians with intermediate skill.Duration: 3.5 minutes.
