Flute Choir,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Flute,Bass Flute,Piccolo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1432736 By The Beatles. By George Harrison, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and Richard Starkey. Arranged by Erika Skye Andres. Rock. 25 pages. Erika Skye Andres #1013161. Published by Erika Skye Andres (A0.1432736). “Now and Then” by The Beatles was released on November 2, 2023. John Lennon wrote it and made an unfinished recording of it on a tape recorder in 1977. It remained unfinished for decades due to poor audio quality until audio restoration was finally made possible thanks to new technology with machine learning. It was completed by Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr with previously recorded tracks by George Harrison, making this truly the last Beatles song. This flute choir arrangement is scored for piccolo, two flutes, alto, bass, and contrabass. If a contrabass flute is not available, bass flute should play its part instead. If the flute choir only has one bass flute, then the contra part should still be played but the bass flute part can be played with a second alto flute (transposed part included) or just on flute. This arrangement was made a couple of months after the release of “Now and Then” in admiration of such an important group in rock history and hopes to do justice to their final song.

Flute Choir,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Flute,Bass Flute - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1256790 By Jax. By Dan Henig, Jacqueline Miskanic, and Mark Nilan Jr. Arranged by Lisa Ochoco. Contemporary,Pop. 28 pages. Lisa L Ochoco #850162. Published by Lisa L Ochoco (A0.1256790). This song by Jax has a catchy tune and fun beat.  It's a song that talks about the beauty standards that women are faced with in our everyday lives.  Having struggled with body image issues herself, Jax wrote this song that directly calls out the lingerie company, Victoria's Secret, for cashing in on body issues, selling skin and bones with big boobs. The song has been an international hit. This arrangement is just so that people who love the song can play it.  I will admit that it is repetitious, but it's just a catchy tune! Scored for flute choir - 3 C, alto, bass, and contrabass flutes. If your choir doesn't have a contrabass, then it can be substituted by another bass, or any C instrument in a similar range, but it is a part that needs to be covered, as it has important (but quite simple bass lines).  There is an optional upright string bass part that doubles the contrabass an octave below.   There are 2 body percussion parts that are quite simple, but particularly important.  It's a stomp and clap (or snap).  You could also use 2 different drums, buckets, etc.  Substitute a low pitch for the stomp and a higher one for the clap. Duration: 3 minutes.

Flute Choir,Woodwind Ensemble Flute - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1112877 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Chamber,Christian,Classical,Instructional,Religious. 44 pages. Regis Bookshar #714833. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1112877). Recordare (from Requiem (K. 626) - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart/Franz Xaver Sussmayr - Flute Octet - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. Hauntingly beautiful is how the Recordare from Mozart's Requiem is often described. Originally written for an orchestra and four vocal soloists, it has now been transcribed by Regis Bookshar for a Flute Octet, and would be a wonderful addition to any music library. This arrangement will provide students with the opportunity to practice breath control because of its long, sustained phrases, and also to give them the chance to play this beautiful composition, something which they may not have had the opportunity to do, otherwise. This selection could be performed for concerts, recitals and church services and is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this arrangement. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (44 pages). The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble has performed the Trumpet Quintet version of the Recordare for funerals, providing beautiful, introspective music for the occasion. There is some controversy surrounding the circumstances of the Requiem's composition because Mozart died before he could complete it. Count Franz von Walsegg had commissioned a Requiem Mass but Mozart had received only half of the payment in advance. So, upon his death on December 5th, 1791, his widow, Constanze, wished to have the work completed secretly by someone else and submit it to the count as having been completed by Mozart to collect the final payment. Joseph von Eybler was one of the first composers to be asked to complete the score and had worked on a number of movements but felt unable to complete the remainder and gave the manuscript back to Constanze Mozart. The task was then given to another composer, Franz Xaver Sussmayr. Sussmayr borrowed some of Eybler's work in making his completion, added his own orchestration to other movements and added several new movements which a Requiem Mass would normally comprise. He then added a final section by adapting the opening two movements which Mozart had written to the different words which finish the Requiem Mass, which according to both Sussmayr and Mozart's wife, was done according to Mozart's directions. The completed score, initially by Mozart but largely finished by Sussmayr, was then dispatched to Count Walsegg complete with a counterfeited signature of Mozart dated 1792. Despite the controversy over how much of the music is actually Mozart's, the commonly performed Sussmayr version has become widely accepted by the public, and is considered one of Mozart's finest compositions. The Recordare is considered by many people to be one of the most beautiful compositions in Mozart's entire catalogue. Regis Bookshar, a trumpet player, has performed the Requiem in concert with a full orchestra, soloists and a chorus and felt that other musicians should have the opportunity to play the hauntingly beautiful Recordare as well. So, in addition to this arrangement for a Flute Octet, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this beautiful composition. There are Quintets, Sextets, Septets and Octets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may fine something else which may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I'm certain that this beautiful arrangement of Mozart's Recordare, will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

Flute Choir,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Flute,Bass Flute - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1138249 Composed by Grant Horsley. Christmas,Classical,Contest,Easter,Festival,Sacred. 30 pages. Grant Horsley #738520. Published by Grant Horsley (A0.1138249). Aria is scored for 4 C Flutes, Alto and Bass Flute. This version is in F major- also a D major version is available. It is a very restful melodic piece based on a single motif heard in bar 1. Written in the key of F major the piece is very hymn -like in design- with long notes and chords but has some unusual harmonies. The searing theme is stated then repeated with variation in texture. The theme is then developed using the rhythmic motif in the beginning climaxing in G major briefly before calmly returning to F major to repeat again. On this repeat more variation and articulation takes place before a restful conclusion. I've tried to keep all parts interesting. The full score is 11 pages and parts are 3 pages each- it is roughly 5 mins 30 in length. I have set it to intermediate level but an early intermediate should be ok with some of the parts. The whole score is on the youtube link for you to assess suitability. Price is for the full score and all parts. Suitable for a variety of purposes: Concerts, Recitals, Contests, Festivals, Easter, Church services, Weddings, Productions or an addition to the repertoire.

Woodwind Ensemble Flute - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.981961 Composed by Georges Hue. Arranged by Hannah Haefele. Romantic Period. 34 pages. Hannah Haefele #6662891. Published by Hannah Haefele (A0.981961). Fantaisie by Hue is an amazing French work for the flute. Playing it with a full orchestra can be great, but that's not accessible to everyone. The piano reduction is nice, but what if you want to play it as a soloist with more players? This flute choir arrangement of the Hue Fantaisie is an excellent option. You can use the authentic flute part or the edited version from the arrangement, and both will work with the flute choir parts. You'll get a score as well as a set of parts to print and use with your ensemble. Give this piece a go on your next ensemble concert, and have a member play the solo or a guest artist! It's a fun piece for intermediate to advanced groups to tackle. And it's a great way to share some French music with audiences.

Flute Choir,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Flute,Bass Flute,Piccolo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1314344 By Tooti Flooti. By Geraldine (Denny) Green. 21st Century,Chamber,Contemporary. 117 pages. Geraldine (Denny) Green at Oakmountmusic #903088. Published by Geraldine (Denny) Green at Oakmountmusic (A0.1314344). ALL PURCHASES COME WITH SCORE AND PARTSThe Divertimento for Flute Choir was requested by flautist David Greenalgh for the Flute choir Tooti Flooti and was written in June and July 2016. It has 3 short movements and a total duration of about 15 minutes. The outer movements are speedy, light hearted and sunny natured, while the middle movement is slower and rather haunting. The 3rd movement is the only one with a title, “The June Prune Tuneâ€, and there is a funny story behind the name. Many summers ago, my husband, Bob, and I were playing guitar and penny whistle together at home and I just happened to be snacking on dried prunes at the time. Bob joked that I should write a tune called the Prune Tune. I went a step further and said, June prune Tune, but it had to be written in June and I had to be eating prunes while actually writing it. Well, for the two Junes of 2014 and 2015 I tried to do it but no tune came. Nothing. Silence! Then, on the 1st June 2016 I was dashing home from work and I dived into a small corner shop for a sandwich and happened to spot a pack of dried prunes along with other dried fruits. So, in the local park, I stopped to have my butty and prunes while watching the birds and as I was eating the prunes a tune suddenly was there in my mind and I was subconsciously humming it. Like a thunderbolt it hit me! This was it! The June Prune Tune had arrived. Luckily I nearly always have paper on me so at once I scribbled it down, while munching very deliberately on the only two prunes left in the pack! Music doesn’t always have to be filled with sorrow and sadness and turmoil, even though much of mine is. But sometimes it’s just great to let the humour and flippancy flow, too, and simply enjoy having a good joke and a laugh. The Instrumentation is:Flute 1 – doubling Piccolo, Flute 2 – doubling piccolo, Flute 3 – doubling piccolo, Flute 4, Alto flute, Bass flute and string Double Bass.As the work was written for a specific group of players, the parts are single and do not divide within themselves. This, however, should not prevent it also working well with more than one player per part. The double bass part sometimes doubles the bass flute line, but also is an independent part in its own right.

Published by Stephanie Pack (A0.1478241). Imagine Pluto as a living being, journeying through the cosmos with a heart full of dreams. For decades, Pluto basked in the joy and pride of being called a planet, a respected member of the Solar System family. Pluto felt the warmth and camaraderie of its planetary siblings, sharing the vast expanse of space with a sense of belonging. But then, the day came when scientists re-evaluated their criteria for what constitutes a planet. Pluto, once brimming with pride, was told it no longer fit the mold. The news struck like a comet, leaving Pluto feeling isolated and heartbroken. The title of 'planet' was stripped away, and Pluto's status was reduced to that of a mere dwarf planet. In the shadow of its larger, more recognized siblings, Pluto felt a profound sadness. It lingered on the fringes of the Solar System, its sense of identity shattered. However, as time passed, a new understanding began to emerge. The term 'dwarf planet' was created, acknowledging Pluto's unique characteristics and the role it plays in our cosmic neighborhood.Pluto's sorrow began to lift, replaced by a sense of renewed purpose and pride. It found solace in this new classification, realizing that it wasn't forgotten or insignificant. As a dwarf planet, Pluto embraced its identity, feeling a sense of happiness and validation. It stood out in its own right, celebrated for its distinctiveness and contribution to our understanding of the universe.Pluto's journey, filled with emotional highs and lows, ultimately led to a place of acceptance and joy. It taught us all a lesson in resilience and the importance of valuing every member of our celestial family, no matter how small or different they may seem.Parts for Piccolo, 2 C Flutes, 2 Alto Flutes with C flute alternatives, 2 Bass Flutes, and ContraBass Flute.

Broadway,Film/TV,Musical/Show. 30 pages. Lisa L Ochoco #773993. Published by Lisa L Ochoco (A0.1173842). Disney's movie, Frozen is so popular, and the songs are, as usual, very popular too. This song is my favorite, even it's the most heart-breaking. It shows the lives of Elsa and Anna beginning as happy children, who enjoy each other's company. Elsa finds out that her ice powers are potentially harmful to her younger sister and is forced to isolate herself in her bedroom. Anna tries, unsuccessfully, to coax her sister out to play for many years. Then, they receive news that their parents have died at sea in a storm. Lonely and desperately unhappy, Anna knocks on her sister's bedroom door...             Elsa?           Please, I know you're in there           People are asking where you've been           They say, Have courage, and I'm trying to           I'm right out here for you, just let me in           We only have each other           It's just you and me           What are we gonna do?           Do you wanna build a snowman?   Scored for low flute choir - 4 altos, 2 basses and contrabass. There is an optional double bass part that doubles contrabass to help fortify it if needed. This arrangement is simple enough for musicians with intermediate playing skills, but it does require good breath support for the many long tones, and it also has a bit of syncopated rhythms. Duration: 4 minutes.

Midnight Carousel is scored for Six C Flutes. -A Flute choir comprising 4 C Flutes, Alto and Bass Flute is also availableMidnight Carousel is in the deep rich key of D minor to aid to the After Dark mood and mysteryThe piece has two distinct ideas. After the introduction a Circus- type Waltz begins, when this is repeated it has a very haunting counter melody which is both lilting and lyrical. As the piece develops, an out of character playful Scherzo theme begins which adds some intensity and mystery surrounding the Midnight Carousel. Both Waltz and Scherzo themes exchange dialogue throughout this section as if wanting some sort of control, when suddenly two accents appear to signify a halt We then return to the opening theme once more to lead us to a finish. Before the conclusion however, the Scherzo theme re-instates it's ideas before the final bars! The whole score is on the youtube link for you to assess suitability- It has been set to intermediate level as the range is around 2 octaves with some parts less than this. Mainly Quarter and Eighth notes used throughout- therefore it would be appropriate for some early-intermediate players. It is around 3 mins 30 long and price is for full score and all parts.Ideal for concerts, contests, productions, halloween, folklore/fantasy themes or simply something different to add to the repertoire.

Woodwind Ensemble Flute - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.548649 Composed by J. S. Bach, 1685 - 1750. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christmas,Easter,Wedding. 34 pages. Jmsgu3 #3407871. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548649). Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring from Bach's Cantata 147, arranged for flute choir: piccolo, 3 flutes, alto flute, bass flute, double contrabass flute (optional) and cello (optional). Score: 19 pg. Parts: 2 pg. Duration with optional repeat: 7:36 Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring Bach composed a cantata called Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben. Though it is the 32nd cantata, it is listed as BWV 147. Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring is the 10th movement of the cantata. It was customary to use previous melodies as a basis for a new work - a practice called Cantus prius factus. So, the chorale melody for this piece is a historic tune called Werde munter, mein Gemüthe. Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring is customarily performed at weddings, and during major church seasons such as Easter and Christmas. Bach Overview First of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Certainly, he was prolific. As a result, everyone has heard of his works. Furthermore, these works number well over a thousand. It seems like people are probably most familiar with the instrumental works such as the Brandenburg Concertos, and the Goldberg Variations. But, similarly famous are such noteworthy works as the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Musical Offering, and certainly the Art of Fugue. Seems like his most famous vocal works include the most noteworthy Mass in B Minor. Also, most noteworthy, though, are the St. John Passion, and certainly the Christmas Oratorio.  History Bach came from a long line of musicians and above all, composers. Consequently, he, first of all, pursued a career as a church organist. So as a result, he gained employment in various Protestant churches in Germany. For a while, he worked as a court musician in Weimar and Köthen. Here he probably developed his organ style and likewise his chamber music style. Eventually, he, therefore gained an appointment as Cantor of St. Thomas in Leipzig. Here he worked until difficulties with his employer ultimately drove him away. The King of Poland finally appointed him as court composer.  Style It seems like Bach created a fascinating new international style. He synthesized elements of the most noteworthy European music ideas into his new style. Even more, this new style was probably his synthesis of European musical rhythm and form. Furthermore, in addition to his complete mastery of counterpoint and motivic development, his sense of harmonic organization probably propelled him to the top. Revival                Mendelssohn conducted a Bach revival in the nineteenth century. His effort probably helped to re-familiarize the public with the magnitude of Bach’s works. During this period, scholars published many noteworthy Bach biographies. Moreover, Wolfgang Schmieder published the BWV (Bach Werke Verzeichnis). As a result, this is now the official catalog of his entire artistic output. The BWV number allows us to locate a work in the catalog. Sometimes scholars will simply use an S (Schmieder) as an abbreviation for BWV.

Ron Baptiste #951576. Published by Ron Baptiste (A0.1367219). This is a rather long piece (about 22 minutes) - but quite amenable to breaking it up any number of ways (by month, quarter, etc).  I wrote this over the course of the Covid shutdown, when we were pretty much housebound for long periods.  It's divided into 12 sections, one for each month, beginning in March 2020 - when we here in Canada first found out about the approaching pandemic.  I tried to represent each month as it affected me - some sadder, some a bit more optimistic.  I especially like December - mostly sad, with a brief reprieve for Christmas, then back to sad.  In this neck of the woods, Christmas was all but cancelled as we were pretty much in lockdown;  at the last minute, restrictions were eased to allow small gatherings for the Holiday.  Overall, it was a sad, lonely year - especially for musicians!  Whatever your personal stance on the pandemic, it certainly affected us all - and resulted in the loss of many lives.

Jmsgu3 #3556989. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549859). Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme (Awake, the Voice is calling us) from Cantata BWV 140. Duration: ca. 4:00, Score: 10 pages, Program this for church services during the Easter season, weddings, or as a recital encore.Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme (Awake, the Voice is calling us) also known as: Sleepers Awake Bach composed his church cantata Wachet auf (BWV 140) as part of his second annual cantata cycle covering the entire annual church calendar. It is based on the hymn of the same name by Philipp Nicolai (1599). The hymn text covers the readings for the 27th Sunday after Trinity. Bach designed the cantata in seven movements, setting the stanzas in various forms. Among these forms are the chorale fantasia, the chorale prelude, and a four-part chorale. He casts the new lyrics as recitatives – in a manner similar to the opera. Fourth Movement Bach writes the fourth movement, Zion hört die Wächter singen (Zion hears the watchmen singing), in the style of a chorale prelude with the chorale phrases performed as a strict cantus firmus. The phrases seem to enter at times erratically against the famous lyrical melody. The violins play this melody in unison as a foil against the cantus phrases. The violin melody is so independent and complete that when the cantus melody appears it catches the listener at times totally off-guard. Bach later transcribed this movement for organ (BWV 645). This transcription became No. 1 of the Six Schübler Chorales. Bach Overview First of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Certainly, he was prolific. Woodwind Ensemble Flute - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1084246 Composed by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Classical,Contest,Festival,Instructional,Multicultural,Romantic Period,World. 27 pages. Regis Bookshar #688425. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1084246). Coronation March, TH 50, CW 47 by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Flute Octet - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. This marvelous arrangement of Peter Tchaikovsky's Coronation March, sometimes called Festival March or Festival Coronation March, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for concerts, recitals and other festive occasions. This arrangement keeps all of the intensity and excitement of the original composition and is suitable for high school and college students. Professional musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (27 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available to the public for the first time. The Coronation March was ordered by the city of Moscow for the coronation of Tsar Alexander III in 1883. It was written during March of 1883 and was performed for the first time on June 4, 1883 in Sokolniky Park in Moscow, conducted by Sergei Taneyev. The music then included excerpts of the anthem, God Save the Tsar. The American premiere was on May 5, 1891, for the opening concert of Carnegie Hall in New York City, conducted by Tchaikovsky himself. During the Soviet Era, Russian performances and recordings of the music were revised to omit the excerpts from the Czarist national anthem, replacing it with thematic material used earlier in the march, due to an official Soviet ban on the anthem. Starting with Dmitri Medvedev's inauguration in 2008, an abbreviated version of this piece is played during the Russian presidential inauguration accompanying the entrance of the incoming president, and ends well before the playing in this piece of the Tsarist anthem God Save the Tsar. Unlike Tchaikovsky's other major compositions, the Coronation March does not have an opus number. It has been given alternative catalogue designations TH 50 and CW 47. Tchaikovsky's Coronation March was originally scored for a full orchestra and written in the key of D Major. Regis Bookshar has now created an abbreviated version, written in Db Major, and has arranged it for a Flute Octet. In addition to this arrangement of Tchaikovsky's Coronation March for a Flute Octet, other arrangements of this festive composition for various instrumental ensembles are also available. Please feel free to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as there are many more arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you as well, and please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I'm certain that this wonderful arrangement of Tchaikovsky's Coronation March will continue to entertain both audiences and performers alike for years to come.
