Baritone Horn TC,Vocal Solo,Voice - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1492564 Composed by Thomas Moore. Arranged by Alex Nunes Rodrigues. Folk. 2 pages. Alex Rodrigues #1069243. Published by Alex Rodrigues (A0.1492564). The Last Rose of Summer is a work deeply rooted in Irish culture, originally penned as a poem by the renowned poet and composer Thomas Moore in 1805. Moore, regarded as Ireland’s national poet, was inspired by an 'Old Blush' rose while staying at Jenkinstown Castle in County Kilkenny, Ireland. The poem was published as part of his Irish Melodies collection between 1807 and 1834, and later set to music by fellow Irishman John Stevenson. The song gained widespread popularity and was incorporated into the opera Martha by the German composer Friedrich von Flotow, which premiered in 1847 in Vienna. This sheet music has been adapted for voice and piano, preserving the original melody true to the composition by Moore and Stevenson. The piano arrangement has been simplified to provide an accessible experience for music teachers who, even without extensive piano skills, wish to accompany their students. This arrangement maintains the melodic and emotional essence of the piece, offering a version that honors its traditional nuances while making it approachable for beginner to intermediate musicians. The Last Rose of Summer captures the essence of melancholy and the passage of time—universal themes reflected in the farewell to the last vestige of a vibrant summer. The melody, paired with Moore’s poetry, evokes a profound sense of loss and longing, with the solitary rose serving as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of life and the seasons. The simplicity and beauty of this piece have made it a classic, both in literature and music, perpetuating Irish tradition and touching the hearts of listeners worldwide.

Baritone voice and piano - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q47100 For baritone and piano. Composed by John Casken. This edition: Sheet music. Downloadable. Duration 22 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q47100. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q47100). English.John Casken's 2009 setting of the Robert Browning poem 'Night and Morning' for tenor and piano was the starting point for a new song cycle, Lines from a Wanderer, exploring man’s desire to travel, to escape and be alone. This search for inner peace is contrasted with a deep nostalgia for places and people left behind in settings of two poems from W.B. Yeats, 'The Lake Isle of Innisfree' and 'The Song of Wandering Aengus', as well as Thomas Hardy's 'The Discovery' and Robert Browning's 'The Italian in England'.

Baritone Horn TC,Vocal Solo,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.869570 Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,Contemporary,Romantic Period. 65 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #3510969. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869570). Luigi Pirandello met Marta Abba an actress in one of his plays in 1925. He fell head over heels for her. She was 25 and he was 58. Over the next ten years before he died in 1935 Pirandello wrote over 600 letters to her. Marta Abba never reciprocated his affection and always kept him at arm's length. But he never gave up trying to woo her. I gleaned through these hundreds of letters translated by Benito Ortolani in his book, Pirandello's Love Letters to Marta Abba, and extracted excerpts from eight letters that give a small vignette of Pirandello's obsession with his muse, Marta. The setting is in the original Italian for baritone and piano.Audio link: https://thomasoboelee.bandcamp.com/album/marta-mia-2018Video link: https://youtu.be/nzwKgWanb6c
