This is a 2nd series of transcriptions that I have started in 2018 as a way of popularising Filipino Folk Music to a larger audience, especially in the Classical World. I would not recommend these transcriptions for a beginner pianist but are within the reach of intermediate to advanced level pianist. These folksongs have been arranged with performance considerations in mind to create the illusion of a difficult transcription without a need for great technical facility. The choice of key signature, which may be daunting at first, actually allows for greater scope and complexity in LH accompaniment figures. RH passages are written in such a way as to limit position shifts allowing easier execution. Furthermore, great care has been taken to create smooth ‘voice-leading’ in the LH accompaniment figure, especially in the bass line and the chords. The songs from The Walter de la Mare Songbook resulted from an invitation to perform at the first ever conference, Reading Walter de la Mare at Cambridge University, England, 2018. This new arrangement combines two different songs from the traditional Irish repertoire in a new and refreshing version for piano. The first song, Samhradh (Summer), is a nostalgic and ethereal song, while the second, Sí Beag Sí Mór (Small fairy mound, big fairy mound), from the famous Irish composer Turlough O'Carolan provides a mood contrast with its dance-like tempo and lively energy. 
Although very common songs to play in the harp or fiddle, this piece brings together two iconic celtic melodies with the piano, an instrument not very often asociated with the genre. .

A beautiful easy solo piano arrangement of Dreaming of Home and Mother

Dreaming of Home and Mother is an 1868 song by American doctor and composer John Pond Ordway. It is most popular in Japan and China. The Chinese version is called ?? (Songbie, Farewell), and the Japanese version is called ??(Ryosh?, Yearning (for home) in traveling)

The lyrics of Songbie were written by Chinese artist, musician, and Buddhist monk Hong Yi (Li Shutong)
The lyrics of Ryosh? were written by school music teacher and lyricist Ky?kei Ind? (????)

It was selected as one of the 100 Best Known Japanese Songs in 2007.
It was also played in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics' closing ceremony as a farewell song.
