Woven into the texture are scalic, arpeggio and chromatic passages, parallel chords and clusters, wide leaps, hand crossings, staccato passages and areas where both hands play in the same clef simultaneously. In addition, there are ornaments, interesting rhythms, Alberti bass, a glissando on black keys and the use of a wide range to assist in mastering the geography of the keyboard. Playing musically and capturing the spirit of each piece is always the goal.

This minuet has a simple A-A-B-B musical form. The quarter note rests in measures 25-26 are editorial, as they do not appear in the original sources, and this score contains suggestions for realizing the ornaments in accordance with Baroque performance practice. During the Baroque period, musicians customarily played menuets in pairs: a first menuet, followed immediately by a second menuet, and then the first menuet played again without repeats. This menuet can thus be followed immediately by Menuet in G minor, BWV Anhang 115 (also by Petzold), after which it may be played again without repeats.
