Caliente is an exciting, upbeat jazz piece in a bossa nova style. The bossa nova genre is usually rhythmic, fast and dancelike. Caliente makes it easy to play the bossa nova by using only Five Finger positions and mostly quarter/half note rhythms. This piece features right hand melody and bass notes in the left hand. There are a few eighth-note spots in the melody for a challenge and some tied rhythms. Students have fun playing this piece and parents love listening to it!

I arranged Rachmaninoff's masterpiece Vocalise for solo piano.

This work has already been arranged for piano by many great predecessors such as Kocsis, Richardson, and Wilde. On top of that, I tried to devise various ideas, such as transcribing the music so that it was easy to play even for people who don't have large hands like the average Japanese person, making changes to themes that are played over and over again, and incorporating pacing and pacing that would be able to be played confidently at concerts. We are doing so.

The Vocalise is a time-honored recital program item. Yet, there are only a handful, no pun intended, I guess!
of reasonable arrangements for piano solo. The Kocsis setting has a TON of extra arpeggios, mostly derived from the orchestral treatment by the composer.
My setting here takes the most economical and stylistically precise approach to integrating the original melody and accompaniment into a single musical expression. There are NO notes that are not directly on the page of the accomp or the tune. Notwithstanding,the piece is by no means a simple one, given its key, and the composer's penchant for borrowed chords. So, we have done our best to make the altered spellings both clear and still voice and key-relevant. A nice four-pages-facing layout for a single-sided printer. A modest tempo is presented, and the piece can go faster if you have the time to practice it enough! New edition has some changes to R-L hand distribution, and three editorial fixes. MBB  .
