When I first started learning Scarlatti’s piano sonata, I found myself missing notes in the arpeggios in the first phrase, leading to contemporary harmony that I found interesting.  I later decided to write my own version of the sonata from my own contemporary perspective.  This sonata follows the binary format common with most Scarlatti sonatas, but does not repeat the second half.  It also features a contemporary view of harmony and several key changes while keeping trills and melodic figuration similar to Scarlatti’s.
