It begins in C Major, moves through A Flat and A major before returning to C Major with various moods from reflective to country gospel. When I was a youth growing up in a small church in Alabama, this was always our favorite hymn to sing on Sunday nights. James Michael Stevens is a prolific composer residing in Nashville, TN and serves as the Music Department Chairman of Welch College.
