This beautiful song with words and music by Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly has been recorded by many different artists. Cyndi Lauper had a hit with it back in the 80's. Phil Collins recorded a version of it, Jenna Ushkowitz (from Glee), and most recently Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake sang a beautiful duet of this piece for the soundtrack Trolls

True Colors makes a beautiful piano solo. This advanced solo has some complicated rhythms--dotted rhythms and syncopation, as well as full chords (octave reach) and interesting harmonies. It should be played expressively with attention to dynamics and phrasing. Pedal is left to the discretion of the performer.
