This is the beautiful and most well-known of the preludes from the Well-Tempered Clavier Book I. The Prelude is not too terribly difficult to play and is as soothing to play as it is to listen to. The Fugue, is rather tricky and required much skill to get all four voices of the Fugue to function separately and as a unit.  The prelude was also written down in the 1725 Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach.
