This is my first original album, a soft piano album about the day of the week ‘Sunday’. Initially, I didn’t set out to write a full album, the piece ‘Sunrise’ ignited that idea after I wrote it. After writing that piece I decided to write more tracks and compile an album. I decided to write a total of 10 tracks, each reflecting on a different time during Sunday. The album begins with the sunrise which is the first track. You’ll notice that the whole album is in order from the beginning to the end of the day. After the sunrise it is morning and the frost begins to melt from the suns warmth in the air. Moving toward midday some light rain passes through followed by a thunderstorm then comes the afternoon, and the warm air. Finally, the day comes to an end as the sun sets on the horizon and then the stars revel themselves in the night sky.This album is meant to be a relaxing, peaceful album to listen to while you read, study, work, drive, or anything else you might do with music on in the background. I really enjoyed writing each track and it was a lot of fun to write a different piece about each part of Sunday. I hope that you enjoy listening to or learning these pieces and that they bring a little more peacefulness into your life.

On the album, it was part one of The Afternoon track titled Forever Afternoon (Tuesday?). Justin Hayward said that he wrote the song on a Tuesday afternoon in Lypiatt Park, in western England near Stroud. Hayward's mother had taken him and his brother to the park while they were growing up, and he revisited the park during the production of Days of Future Passed to write the song.

I was chatting to my mom in South Africa yesterday, and she requested some new music for her upcoming birthday(preferably me singing another aria), but I woke up with this in my head early this morning and so I got to work. It reminded me a little of all the Chopin waltzes I played many moons ago, and it made me sad that he died at the young age of 39, so I decided to call it The Birthday Waltz. Chopin's music really shaped the way I hear melody, and I love his body of work. And my mom has always been my biggest fan, coach and champion, so I hope she likes this piece, and I guess Ill go and record an aria for her now!!! ps I think this piece will be a great preparation for students who are eager to learn some Chopin Waltzes. It sounds harder than it is and I think it's fun to play (and even my husband loved hearing it all day). I hope you enjoy it too.

Just as relevant today as it was back in the '60s, the words and sentiment of this tune are captured in a reverent and modern way in this solo piano arrangement.It includes the lyrics for all verses on the title page (but not within the sheet music). This arrangement is not meant to follow the key changes and verses exactly as Stevie sings them.  Rather, it is truly a solo piano re-arrangment meant to convey the message through sound.  From the twinkling, classic Christmas intro into (Bb major), through a more rhythmic verse (B major) and then a broader, sweeping arpeggio verse (F major), finally winding down to a simpler arpeggio pattern on the final verse (Bb major) and a twinkling, thoughtful ending.As a professional pianist and piano instructor, I have been arranging solo piano pieces for decades. It is my hope that this arrangement will be a unique and delightful experience for both the player and those who hear it this holiday season. Enjoy!
