Composed using two themes by English composer Henry Purcell ('If Love's A Sweet Passion' from the Fairy Queen, and 'When I Am Laid In Earth' from Dido & Aeneas), this work is a transcription which has reworked the original material to create one single, polyphonic piece.

Inspired by a 17th century Turkish poem printed at the top of a 1940s poster, this piece explores the end of the life cycle of the pictured man, including fragmented quotations of Dies Irae.

Commissioned for naked pianist, this piece is a five movement work based on the five stages of depression as outlined by Elisabeth Kübler-Ross.

The world premiere was given by Karl Lutchmayer in Paris on 25th March 2017, and the UK premiere on 14th August of the same year in Walsall.
