The second movement of Vivaldi’s Concerto RV. 107 in g minor makes an attractive contribution to any recital. Originally for flute, oboe, violin, bassoon and continuo, this piano arrangement is in three staves so the performer can see the interweaving voice leading. I have also included a version for piano in 2 staves. It will be important to maintain a legato and singing quality throughout. The duration is 4'40.

Eventually, the energetic opening sneaks back in featuring virtuosity and flamboyance until at the end where it drifts off into the night. The duration is 11 minutes. This comes from an earlier computer program copy thus the lower price.The premiere was by Catherine Schneider at the American Church in Paris, France on February 11, 1990.

Silent Durations XV Tango (a Zen experience), written for François Rossé, owes its subtitle due to the presence of elements from the tango as it was played in the 1930's. These include both the steady 8th note pulsations as well as melodic flourishes reminiscent of bandoneon technique. These Silent Duration pieces are notable for their incorporation of silence as an integral part of the compositional fabric. The duration is 6'10. Silent Durations XV was premiered by Mihail Vîrtosu, piano at the Festival Zilele Muzichii Contemporane, edita XX in Bucarest, Rumania on April 9, 2008.

TWO BEATS, in this version for any keyboard, is a version of BEATS with an added second part. The original version of BEATS for soprano recorder was written in 2014 for Maria Dorner-Hofmann, a German recorder virtuoso who also teaches at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. The work, in 7 minutes, explores the evolution of repetitive cellular ideas using various meters, lengths of cells and musical atmospheres. There are simple passages as well as virtuosic ones and the energy level of the piece remains at a highly intensive level throughout the entire seven minutes.
