This song evokes scenes of a cozy day inside watching the rain falling, dripping from green leaves, and soaking the earth. It has a repeating baseline that makes it easier to play for late beginner/early intermediate pianists. However, the right hand is more complex which adds musical interest and prevents the song from sounding monotonous. This is a simpler version of one of my other compositions, Cloudburst. Students can compare the two and see that hard work and dedicated practice can allow them to play a more difficult and interesting song.

Published by Edgars Samorodovs (A0.1033148). This piece portrays one miraculous day out in nature with the weather, as well as the tunes and moods changing constantly. Here I used every piano register to create contrasts. It begins with the sun rising over the horizon with piano tremolo in a high register almost as a dew dripping from the grass, impressionistic melody in the middle register, and more forceful intervals in the lower register as a sign, that something majestic awaits. The next part is an innocent, lightsome fugue with baroque elements, that ends on a minor scale, creating suspense and uncertainty. After a little melancholic section in Largo (slow tempo), the storm has finally started. Thunder - Dramatic octaves in the lower register with glimpses of melody from the intro turn into a tempestuous dance with arpeggios in the left hand and somewhat sweet melody in the right hand. The last section is a calm after the storm. Little raindrops falling from the roofs in the upper register create the melody from the intro as if reminiscing of how joyful was the beginning of the day. The piece finishes with a feeling of unfulfillment and expectation of what surprises the new day will bring.

Slowly, tiny cloud wisps in the blank sky overhead grow into towering thunderheads. Fat raindrops begin to strike the desert floor one at a time, bursting into steam. The single drops quickly crescendo into torrent sheets of rain, drenching the terrain. Then, just as quickly as it began, the cloudburst stops, leaving only the quiet dripping of remnant raindrops in its wake as the desert heat erases all traces of moisture.  Desert Cloudburst appears on Bjorck's album/CD, Pure Piano Panoramas..
