Another piece in my Impressions series of New Age piano solos. This one expresses the pleasant realm of Dreaming. It begins languid and warm, then slightly increases the tempo as it brightens the harmony, then swells a bit more with thicker harmony and poco vivo, then reverses the themes to end back with the languid warmth. This simple but rich piece will relax and transport you into pleasant dreams.

I Was Dreaming-Maybe is a piano solo arrangement of the 1902 hit pop song by Carrie Jacobs-Bond, which was originally a ballad for voice and piano.  I have taken the main 8 bar melodic theme and set it to an oscillating music box accompaniment.  I then created a Coda that keeps getting bolder as the dream comes true.

Eamonn Watt, aka The Virtual Conductor is 25 years old and lives in the Shetland Islands, the most northern isles of the UK. He received a First Class Applied Music Degree from the University of the Highlands and Islands in August 2016 . Along with composition, he is a drummer and percussionist of many genres. About the piece itself. This piece is called 'Daytime Dreams' and is my very first piece of music I have ever fully composed. I chose this name because it reflects the world we live in as very fast paced and always moving, changing ideas and parts reflect different things happening but the main theme always comes back - the same old daily routine. In the middle of the piece there is a much more calm and relaxed style used which is meant to be the Daytime Dreaming in the midst of everything else; taking a step back from all the 'chaos' in your life. This is the first of three movements of a Sonatina that I composed some years ago. It is intended for intermediate and possibly advanced intermediate students since the left hand in some passages can be a bit tricky. But on the whole the sonatina is very romantic and dreamy but still with a little touch of 21st century in some harmonies.
