The Tasmanian tiger is considered extinct by most, though some still believe it exists somewhere in the Tasmanian wilderness. It was a marsupial apex predator until it was killed off by humans. This piece represents the aloofness of the tiger, its position at the top of the food chain the vast wilderness, and the possibility of its continued survival.

The devil is a fairly small animal, but the world's largest surviving carnivorous marsupial. They are solitary animals that roam around at night, in general finding dead animals to eat which they eat in its entirety. They often feed in groups where the fierce little animals can make loud screeching noises at one another, asserting dominance.
