One of the most powerful excursions on the island of Jamaica is to the Rose Hall plantation which was home to the famous local legend, a white voodoo witch who lived and worked and cast spells there in the 1700's!  the story held a fascination for me from the beginning.  I won't spoil the adventure of anyone who might wish to Google the incredible story of her wild life on that far away place but i urge you to read about her.  She is the inspiration of this programmatic piece of piano music!
