Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1029473 Composed by Anne M. H. Patterson. Contemporary. Score. 5 pages. A. Patterson #4984267. Published by A. Patterson (A0.1029473). This wistfully melancholy piano solo is inspired by Penelope from Homer's Odyssey. Penelope is the portrait of desperate longing, as she waits for her husband Odysseus to return for twenty years. This piece is the perfect musical companion for those times you long for the return of a loved one. This piece is challenging with a portion in E-flat minor (six flats), many heavy chords, and arpeggios (I am still brushing it up myself!). I would say, however, that if one can handle Debussy's Claire de Lune, he can handle this piece. I suggest using the sustain pedal to your advantage so as to be able to take different portions of the arpeggios with different hands. Despite the rhythmic and technical challenges, this entire piece ought to be expressive from start to finish. A rather cathartic piece in nature, this is the piece to let your emotions guide.Hopefully, there will be a YouTube channel with recordings of this piece and all my future pieces.
