Daily an eagle feasted on his liver, which regrew each night. Heracles (Hercules) killed the eagle, freeing Prometheus from this torture. The composer Alexander Scriabin created a synthetic scale later known as the Prometheus scale and its related chord, also called the Mystic Chord, which feature in this short piece for the third smallest constellation in the night sky.
