What a Wonderful World was written by Bob Thiele and George David Weiss. It was recorded by Louis Armstrong and released in 1967. George Weiss stated that he specifically wrote the song for Louis Armstrong because he was inspired by Armstrong's ability to bring people of different races together. It gradually became a standard and was used in both films and television shows.
