This is my first ever composition for piano. Hope you find it enjoyable to listen and play. :)

The piece depicts someone, who has gone through so much in life - be it happiness, sorrow, triumph or grief, stopping for a moment and looking back. Turning around and taking a good long look of the past and letting all sorts of memories gush into his mind, bringing back all those long forgotten nostalgia.

 The intro of the piece, is when he sits down, his mind slowly steps out from the present reality and starts to wander off in search of the past. Throughout the piece, he encounters fond memories which will always be a joy to think of, and also bad memories, which he is powerless to amend, and so lets them pass on like a flowing river. At the end, he steps back slowly into the present, after an amazing short trip through the life he has lived.

The piece is generally played with pedal throughout with rubato at a relaxed tone. Don't rush the piece by following the tempo markings exactly, adjust to your own liking and the most important part is that I hope you can relax, enjoy the piece when you're playing it. ;)

Bruyeres is a short musical composition for solo piano written by the French composer Claude Debussy. It is one of the pieces included in his second book of Préludes, and is marked Allegretto ma non troppo. This piece has been described as “Pastorale�, due to its innocent melodic lines and its depictions of a rural landscape. The piece begins with a rather dreamy, wistful melody. From there, the piece develops as it moves into more complex harmonic shapes, and its energy increases with the building little rhythms. By the end, the music has worked its way into a dynamic and exciting climax. This piece is a great example of Debussy’s masterful skill in transforming ordinary sounds into something larger and more beautiful; something that truly captures the emotion of being in a field of heather.
