So how can we fathom which stars show its true radiance?The only stars that have reliable radiance are the ones in the sky. All other stars are illusions meant to mimic the ones above. But we cannot let them deceive us. If you follow the stars in the sea, you will sink like the rocks. Down you will go into the abyss chasing an illusion you believed were the real stars. If you dig deeper until you are covered in mud, your eyes will become used to the abyss until you forget what you were even chasing. And if you look up at the stars above, you would quickly shy away from them as it causes affliction in your eyes. Each movement concentrates on various concepts specifically for the beginner pianist.  Movement one emphasizes the use of staccato, the key of G key signature and the use of flats and naturals.  Movement two is meant for the student that is beginning to explore the piano outside of positions, but in a gentle, repetitive way.  Movement three uses the key of D major and minor, to help students with accidentals and key signature studies.  Movement four is also for the student that has learned to play without positions, perhaps one that has done some interval training, as this movement is based on the circle of fifths and fourths.  The final movement has more of a focus on rhythm, articulation and expressive details.  The left hand stays in low G position and the right hand stays in C position, making this movement easier to play, but it allows the student to focus on the other details.  A great way for students to work on their skills, while learning a quick piece for Halloween!

This traditional Scottish tune is often played for royal funerals and other somber events. This simple, yet beautiful tune was written as a lament for Scots who perished in the Battle of Flodden in 1513. The melody was originally published in the early 1600's. It is to be played slowly, with a wistful, lingering melody. This large print easy piano solo in the key of C is a simple right hand melody, following the tune of the original bagpipes upon which this piece is generally played for royal events. The left hand consists of single, sustained bass clef notes, often imitating the drone of the bagpipes. This arrangement is suitable for beginner to lower intermediate pianists. There is something magical in the melody and in the emotion that they feel when they play and perform this song.This advanced intermediate arrangement is presented with a six bar intro and then the melody is introduced in the middle part of the piano. The left hand has flowing chords and arpeggios, while the melody is written out in an easy-to-read syncopated rhythm that mimics the vocalists. A return to the intro follows, with a more decorated melody in the upper part of the piano. The chorus is introduced with strong, four-note chords and a more chord-like structure to the left hand. The bridge introduces some new interesting rhythms and arpeggios in both hands and ends with a descending cross hand arpeggio. The piece ends with a restatement of the verse, but again told with different inflections.I hope that you enjoy this arrangement!Elena.
