Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.862535 Composed by Michael Bomier. Contemporary,Instructional,Standards. Score. 6 pages. Michael Butkus-Bomier #2033351. Published by Michael Butkus-Bomier (A0.862535). Etude 3.0, the last of the single-interval material. tritones are rather easier to mirror, and otherwise make symmetrical than other intervals. Thus this piece is 100% mirrored, symmetrical, and topographically identical hand-to-hand. There are many structures which are also inversions, played simultaneously. Diminished 7ths, Dom7 b5 chords, even fifths with the tritone sandwiched in between the two halves of the fifths, are in evidence here. There are rhythmic syncopations and shifting accents. All in all a real showpiece of perpetuum mobile dissonance which makes sense even to the listener or player accustomed to Romantic literature. It's a gallop! Approx running time is 4 mins 20 secs. Two-interval pieces are next in line. MBB.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.862538 Composed by Michael Bomier. Contemporary,Instructional,Standards. Score. 8 pages. Michael Butkus-Bomier #2034191. Published by Michael Butkus-Bomier (A0.862538). Here is the first in the sequence of dual-interval selections. The half-step and the whole-step, close cousins, but, Do They Get Along? Sure! The traditional musical element that uses both these intervals is the octotonic or diminished scale. So, this material figures prominently in the first section, accompanied by alternating major and minor sevenths. The piece uses mirrored and symmetrical passages in 7ths next, followed by the opposite smaller intervals. Rolled mirrored clusters, symmetrical open chords, every possibility is explored here, each aspect showing its own identity. The intervallic unity gives the piece, and ALL the pieces in this series, a continuity that binds the disparate pianistic applications together into unified and identifiable musics. Running time is approx. 3 mins 30 secs. at suggested tempo. Any piece in this series can go slower, if the player needs the time, or faster, if the player feels like gunning it! MBB.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.862449 Composed by Michael Bomier. Contemporary,Standards. Score. 2 pages. Michael Butkus-Bomier #2007987. Published by Michael Butkus-Bomier (A0.862449). The final prelude of this set of 24 uses the modern concept of metric modulation as its foundation. A single B min/maj 7 arpeggiates repeatedly in the treble, while a D aug/maj 7 does the same in the bass. The effect is not unlike that of modern minimalism, or perhaps the movie soundtrack from Vertigo, or The Day the Earth Stood Still, by Bernard Herrmann. The right hand remains unaltered throughout, BUT, the left hand reframes the groupings of the eighth-notes from groups of 6, to 5,4,3,2, down to a one-to-one ratio. It then ramps back up, past the start point, and ends with groups of nine notes, all the while maintaining the right hand. It may seem as if the tempo changes, or the time signature changes, but in fact, it is only the groupings of the left-hand eighth-notes that changes, hence, modulating the meter! Approx duration 3 mins., 30 secs.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.862664 Composed by Sinding, C. Arranged by Michael Bomier. Concert,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. Score. 9 pages. Michael Butkus-Bomier #3621857. Published by Michael Butkus-Bomier (A0.862664). Rustle of Spring has been a encore favorite for classical recitalists since its introduction. Its constant arpeggiation and its basic melody combine for a clear yet luminescent effect. Our edition uses a 2/4 time signature, so that each measure has been divided in half, to provide for more clarity about accidentals, to insure there are NO clef changes in the middle of a measure, and to use metric groupings, especially in the left-hand, that are not 7's and five, but 2's and threes, which are much more familiar to the average player, for who ALL our editions are intended. A 7 can usually be broken into a 4 and a 3, and a five into a two and a three, avoiding the need to mentally or sonically integrate all these odd sets under a duple melody. The piece has its tempo mark at a conservative place, but could go faster should the player achieve that. The final set of arpeggios is reset for better hand-to-hand clarity. MBB.

Piano Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.596587 Composed by Juan María Solare. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary,Instructional,Sacred. Score. 6 pages. Juan Maria Solare #5714041. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.596587). Juan María Solare: Barefoot in Water for piano If bare feet symbolize innocence, simplicity and vulnerability (as opposite to shoes, which imply civilization and protection), being barefoot alludes to a certain degree of purification, and walking barefoot conveys the idea of overcoming the obstacles of daily life. Such idea is reinforced in this title by the element water.   This piano prelude was composed on 15 April 2020 in Bremen, Germany. A musical particularity is that it is written in the metric of 5/8.   Expect finding soon (it's scheduled for 3rd September 2020) the prelude Barefoot in Water on Spotify, Apple Music and all thinkable Digital Streaming Platforms. Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.890703 Composed by John Pitts. Contemporary. Score. 30 pages. Intensely Pleasant Music #3424637. Published by Intensely Pleasant Music (A0.890703). Available on CD from www.johnpitts.co.uk/cds.htm or download from https://www.hyperion-records.co.uk/dc.asp?dc=D_1EMIPM08TOCCATA for PIANO was written in response to a request from a friend for a ten-minute piece. My aim was to write a work that suited his technical agility on the keyboard and his ability to get to grips with motoric, driving music. I limited myself to a relatively small amount of material, which is constantly re-used in various forms, and on various parts of the keyboard, and smaller thematical cells are individually explored. Choice of tessitura, and varying levels of rhythmic stability, harmonic clarity and metric organisation, are the main structural elements. Motoric energy is regulated until the final release in the last section, where use is made of the entire range of the keyboard, all the thematic fragments converge, and the full momentum is released. Performers should note the use of the Sostenuto pedal (bars 181-260 & 354-407), which sustains the selected notes (in the first case a four-note chord, and in the second, just over an octave chromatic cluster). Needless to say, this piece should only be attempted by accomplished players...
