Composed by Michael Bomier. Contemporary,Instructional,Standards. Score. 8 pages. Michael Butkus-Bomier #2034191. Published by Michael Butkus-Bomier (A0.862538).

Here is the first in the sequence of dual-interval selections. The half-step and the whole-step, close cousins, but, Do They Get Along? Sure! The traditional musical element that uses both these intervals is the octotonic or diminished scale. So, this material figures prominently in the first section, accompanied by alternating major and minor sevenths. The piece uses mirrored and symmetrical passages in 7ths next, followed by the opposite smaller intervals. Rolled mirrored clusters, symmetrical open chords, every possibility is explored here, each aspect showing its own identity. The intervallic unity gives the piece, and ALL the pieces in this series, a continuity that binds the disparate pianistic applications together into unified and identifiable musics. Running time is approx. 3 mins 30 secs. at suggested tempo. Any piece in this series can go slower, if the player needs the time, or faster, if the player feels like gunning it! MBB.

Composed by Michael Bomier. Contemporary,Instructional,Standards. Score. 6 pages. Michael Butkus-Bomier #2033351. Published by Michael Butkus-Bomier (A0.862535).

Etude 3.0, the last of the single-interval material. tritones are rather easier to mirror, and otherwise make symmetrical than other intervals. Thus this piece is 100% mirrored, symmetrical, and topographically identical hand-to-hand. There are many structures which are also inversions, played simultaneously. Diminished 7ths, Dom7 b5 chords, even fifths with the tritone sandwiched in between the two halves of the fifths, are in evidence here. There are rhythmic syncopations and shifting accents. All in all a real showpiece of perpetuum mobile dissonance which makes sense even to the listener or player accustomed to Romantic literature. It's a gallop! Approx running time is 4 mins 20 secs. Two-interval pieces are next in line. MBB.

By The Beatles. By George Harrison. Arranged by Frank Pisani. 20th Century,Pop,Rock. Score. 6 pages. Frank Pisani #746569. Published by Frank Pisani (A0.1146341).

Solo Piano arrangement for The Beatles’ iconic song, Here Comes The Sun. Written by George Harrison, this song was included on the band's 1969 album Abbey Road. This arrangement is in the original key and is perfect for intermediate pianists - featuring a very accurate vocal line, and interesting metric modulations. This arrangement also features lyrics and chord symbols, making it easy to sing along and learn the chord progression. Finger number markings make it easier to know which fingers to use, and how to easily move around the keyboard. You may find it easier to learn how to play this song if you practice both hand separately first before trying to play them together. This arrangement is appropriate for schools and students. Arrangement Duration: 3:09.

Composed by Sinding, C. Arranged by Michael Bomier. Concert,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. Score. 9 pages. Michael Butkus-Bomier #3621857. Published by Michael Butkus-Bomier (A0.862664).

Rustle of Spring has been a encore favorite for classical recitalists since its introduction. Its constant arpeggiation and its basic melody combine for a clear yet luminescent effect. Our edition uses a 2/4 time signature, so that each measure has been divided in half, to provide for more clarity about accidentals, to insure there are NO clef changes in the middle of a measure, and to use metric groupings, especially in the left-hand, that are not 7's and five, but 2's and threes, which are much more familiar to the average player, for who ALL our editions are intended. A 7 can usually be broken into a 4 and a 3, and a five into a two and a three, avoiding the need to mentally or sonically integrate all these odd sets under a duple melody. The piece has its tempo mark at a conservative place, but could go faster should the player achieve that. The final set of arpeggios is reset for better hand-to-hand clarity. MBB.

Composed by Michael Bomier. Contemporary,Standards. Score. 2 pages. Michael Butkus-Bomier #2007987. Published by Michael Butkus-Bomier (A0.862449).

The final prelude of this set of 24 uses the modern concept of metric modulation as its foundation. A single B min/maj 7 arpeggiates repeatedly in the treble, while a D aug/maj 7 does the same in the bass. The effect is not unlike that of modern minimalism, or perhaps the movie soundtrack from Vertigo, or The Day the Earth Stood Still, by Bernard Herrmann. The right hand remains unaltered throughout, BUT, the left hand reframes the groupings of the eighth-notes from groups of 6, to 5,4,3,2, down to a one-to-one ratio. It then ramps back up, past the start point, and ends with groups of nine notes, all the while maintaining the right hand. It may seem as if the tempo changes, or the time signature changes, but in fact, it is only the groupings of the left-hand eighth-notes that changes, hence, modulating the meter! Approx duration 3 mins., 30 secs.
