Plaisir D'Amour is a french song which was written in 1784.  It was the basis of the very big Elvis Presley song Can't Help falling in love.  A great song to learn especially if you have french friends.  They all now the words to the song and love the song.  The lyrics are The pleasure of love last a short time, but the pain of love lasts a life time.  And that was written in 1784!

Menuet sur le nom d'Haydn  was written for a commemorative folio. It is one of the shortest pieces in Ravel's piano output. It makes a fine introduction to his harmonic and thematic ideas. All-original notes, reset for much improved readability and linear continuity. The chords are typical French amalgamations of dissonances that resolve fast, and then move headlong into yet another clash-and-resolve situation! Some fingerings provided. MBB.
