Other composers have done sets of preludes in every major and minor key, including Bach and Chopin. While not attempting to mimic either of these greats, I did take a page out of Bach’s book by starting with C major and C minor, then ascending chromatically. My Prelude No. 22 in B-flat minor also quotes the opening measure of Chopin’s C minor prelude.
