I first heard this beautiful Chinese Folk song MO LI HUA (Jasmine Flower) performed at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. In China, the Jasmine Flower represents beauty, elegance and grace. This song is one of my favorite pieces from the Orient.

It is dedicated to my dear friends Franklin and Lena who inspired me to arrange this famous Chinese song for piano.  

The sheet music is clearly notated with dynamic and articulation marks, phrasing, pedal indications, chord symbols, including suggested fingerings and appropriate musical terms for playing.

This is a wonderful arrangement for intermediate level students, professional pianists, and piano teachers.

This is a piano solo arrangement “Jasmine Flower Fantasy � by Ala Gialla. It is based on the famous Chinese folk tune “Jasmine Flower� (茉莉花). It starts with a fantasy-like introduction, followed by variations of the main theme that appears in both primo and secondo parts, in various characters and moods, some more melodious and lyrical, others more rhythmic and march-like. It eventually grows more dramatically with expansive arpeggiations, only to calm down to a much softer dynamics toward the end, finishing on a softer note.

The Jasmine in June is a very oriental beautiful elegant Taiwanese folk song. By double lining and emerging in it's melody with the Rhapsody on theme of paganini variation no.18 by Rachmaninoff, this piece challenges polyphonic playinng skill and the nice voice leading while maintaining the sense of  Rachmaninoff-style romantic passionate atmosphere.
