The work was written for a series of concerts in honor of Glass that Horvath will perform in a number of capitals, beginning at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, France in March, 2014.The work begins with an ostinato-figure in the right-hand, which should be played at the same;dynamic and absolutely in rythmn thourhout the work. In the left-hand, two motives are presented with slightly different rhythmic contexts, the lower motif which gradually becomes more present and the higher motive which grandually becomes more and more distant. The sustain pedal should be used throughout the work and the ressonance should be allowed to ring at the end.

As the composer, I wanted to explore the contrasting moods within this composition.  The sheet music for 'Rêveries agitées' was meticulously created using Sibelius software, ensuring accurate representation of the musical score. The MIDI sample, played by Note Performer, offers a respectable rendition of the piece.  Drawing upon my knowledge of traditional harmony acquired in the first semester of 2018, I crafted this short composition. 'Rêveries agitées' employs the evocative sounds of the natural minor and harmonic minor scales, showcasing a compelling interplay of melody and accompaniment.  The piece follows an A B A' form: the A section establishes a serene and tender atmosphere, while the B section introduces an intense and aggressive dynamic with a falling melody that ends in suspension. Fast passages punctuate this section. Finally, the A' section returns, concluding the composition in a poignant and melancholic mood.

Since the staccato element is a feature of the music, pedaling is not used, except at measure 50.Set the metronome at a slow tempo for learning: quarter note =70, and much higher for performance: quarter note = 100 - 250. This fast angular piano piece (1 min. 5 sec) is the tenth in a series of impromptus inspired by the sounds of childhood, namely the soundtracks of early 90s video game systems like Nintendo.  This composition captures the robotic, computerized quality that was common with many of the 8-bit soundtracks.  Although composers were limited to writing thin textures, they often took advantage of the computer's ability to play virtuosic passages that would be nearly unimaginable for a living performer. The texture of this piece is almost entirely monophonic.  The velocity of the 16th notes creates the impression of harmony in the same way virtuosic blue-grass flat-picking guitarist can.  The greatest challenge to the performer is getting the alternating hands coordinated.  Fingerings are important, but more so is deciding which hand to play specific melodic passages.  Where these spots seemed most precarious, I provided suggestions.  Elsewhere, it is helpful to recognize that any consecutively repeated note is best played with an alternate hand.Follow my work at www.bendockery.comThere you can sign up for my email list and get tons of free music! .

It is my hope that this piece, with its brisk tempo, serves as a lively opening to the collection, showcasing the pianist's skill and the intricate counterpoint I aimed to achieve.Fugue No. 2 in B-flat Major (Andante):The second fugue, marked Andante with a duration of 02:25, introduces a contemplative mood in the key of B-flat major. In my modest attempt, this piece invites the listener to reflect and explore a more introspective side, providing a gentle contrast to the preceding fugue.Fugue No. 3 in A Major (Adagio):With a deliberate pace of 02:57 and an Adagio tempo, the third fugue in A major emphasizes melody and expression.
