Selection of every Minuets From Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach

I am pleased to present you all with a very special opportunity to acquire a treasure from Johann Sebastian Bach's musical works. It is the anthology Selection of Every Minuets from Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach, the result of my remarkable research and editing work.  

This publication brings together the minuets written for harpsichord or clavichord contained in Bach's original handwritten notebooks dated from 1722 and 1725. These pieces were created by Bach as musical gifts for his wife Anna Magdalena, likely to be enjoyed during her domestic studies of the harpsichord or clavichord.

I myself have diligently carried out the careful work of researching, transcribing and editing this important repertoire, faithfully preserving the notation and style of the era. In this way, musicians and scholars will be able to enjoy the works in their original form, without any adaptations.

We now have in a single, easily legible edition, all pieces organized with great care in the same sequence as in the manuscripts.

Whether for the study of the master's style or simply for enjoyment, this anthology will preserve under my curation Bach's most intimate creations in a practical and accessible way.

Obs.: This piece is probably the easiest composition in Bach's Well-Tempered Klavier.
The Prelude appears also in the Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach (1725). This notebook was filled with favorite selections of the members of the Bach family.
There is also a slightly different version of this prelude, known as Prelude BWV 846A, in the Klavierbüchlein für Wilhelm Friedemann Bach. Bach's Prelude BWV 846 consists of a simple progression of arpeggiated chords. It is one of Johann Sebastian Bach's most famous compositions for the keyboard.
Some sources show a trill of the last E of measure 34. If playing this trill, be sure to start it on the upper auxiliary note.
This piece served as the inspiration for Gounod's Ave Maria.

Prelude and Fugue No.1 in C Major from The Well-Tempered Clavier Book 1 BWV 846- J.S. Bach - Piano Solo. This is the beautiful and most well-known of the preludes from the Well-Tempered Clavier Book I. The Prelude is not too terribly difficult to play and is as soothing to play as it is to listen to. The Fugue, is rather tricky and required much skill to get all four voices of the Fugue to function separately and as a unit.  The prelude was also written down in the 1725 Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach. This Collection also includes a short essay about The Well-Tempered Clavier and a biography of Johann Sebastian Bach. The Prelude and 25 other of the little keyboard pieces of the Notebook can also be purchased in this collection here at sheetmusicplus: (S0.819079)
