Criss Cross Waltz highlights a crossing of the hands to play the melodies and features the 3/4 time signature common in the waltz.  The melody switches to the left hand in the B section but still crosses over the right many times.  My students are challenged to play the piece smoothly at first due to the precise targeting on notes needed on the cross overs.  However, upon mastery of this technique, the enjoyment of the piece is realized.  Students must also learn to control the many Ritardandos and the slow, quiet, ending.  Criss Cross Waltz, a piece for the mid-elementary student, is a wonderful piece for teaching patience.  I'm sure your students will enjoy it very much!
