Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1414010 Composed by Donald Ashwander. Classical,Contemporary,Jazz. Score. 4 pages. The Donald Ashwander Estate #995777. Published by The Donald Ashwander Estate (A0.1414010). Donald Ashwander, known for his vibrant and exuberant ragtime compositions, presents a departure from his usual style with Request. In this solo piano piece, Ashwander delves into his classical leanings, weaving a tapestry of nostalgia and longing. As the gentle notes cascade from the piano, one can envision the dimly lit ambiance of a sophisticated establishment, where patrons gather to unwind and immerse themselves in the melodies that dance through the air. Request captures the essence of this setting, evoking a sense of intimacy and elegance. With each chord and arpeggio, Ashwander masterfully constructs a musical narrative that speaks to the soul. His expressive and delicate phrasing imbue the composition with a sense of longing, as if each note yearns to convey a story untold.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.938023 Composed by Liz Nedela. Classical,Contest,Festival,Instructional,Traditional. Score. 12 pages. Liz Nedela #6479509. Published by Liz Nedela (A0.938023). This Piano Solo was requested by 11 year old Brian, who is in Level VI piano. Brian likes tonal music, and his favorite composer is Muzio Clementi. He also likes science, drawing, technology, and travel - especially flying. He would like to be a pilot someday. Brian requested a fast piece, not too long, tonal, in the key of G - kind of like Clementi. This is part of a collaboration between composers and students. It is a project of the Oregon Music Teachers Association and the Cascadia Composers chapter of NACUSA (National Association of Composers USA). The annual concert, titled In Good Hands, features original compositions that are chosen by OMTA teachers for their students. In 2021, the project includes individualized collaboration where composers wrote for specific students. The composers met with the students, and together they decided on a composition written according to the requests of the student.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.938022 Composed by Liz Nedela. Classical,Contest,Festival,Instructional,Multicultural,World. Score. 12 pages. Liz Nedela #6479507. Published by Liz Nedela (A0.938022). This Piano Solo was composed for Nina, who is a college freshman and plays advanced music. Nina requested a Nocturne in the Phrygian mode that would resemble the style of Chopin. Her favorite composer is Chopin, and loves his nocturnes. She has written a poem about Chopin. Nina began her first year of college during the pandemic, and is consequently a virtual student. Her major is Bio-Engineering. During high school, she has accompanied choirs and solo- ensemble festivals, participated in many solo piano events, and completed all the requirements of the OMTA syllabus. Because she is attending college virtually and is living with her family locally, she continues to study piano with her long-time OMTA piano teacher. Nina also has earned a black belt in Karate; and she likes skiing and fashion. The piece is part of a collaboration between composers and students. Piano Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.1033214 Composed by Mark Wilson. Contemporary. Score. 27 pages. Mark Wilson #6268685. Published by Mark Wilson (A0.1033214). When my friend, the composer and pianist Neil Crossland, asked me to write a work for him to perform, he requested that I give the piece a distinctly Scottish flavour. Perhaps as a consequence, hailing from Scotland as I do, the resulting work is distinctly autobiographical in nature. This is a challenging piece, aimed at advanced players. The four movements reflect the preoccupations of four stages of (my) life as seen in hindsight. The word dimensions in the piece's title refers to facets of my own character. The first movement, Complications, represents the self-image of the young. The music is adventurous and academic, full of the potential of a life yet to be lived and the earnest self obsession of youth. The second movement, Romance, is the search for love, though seen through the lens of memory and therefore touched with sadness. The third, Transience, shows the uncertainties of middle age, so full of frustration and of nostalgia. This movement contains my setting of the Jacobian poem Will Ye No Come Back Again?. The last movement, Revelry, blows away the uncertainties of the third movement with the driving energy of a Scottish reel. Perhaps increasing age brings a certain perspective; what does it matter if you have more past than future? Just get up and dance and let Dr. Music sweep your cares away. The piece features a musical fragment (first heard in bar 26 of the first movement) which has been the cause of much amusement between Neil Crossland and myself over the years. Neil has been composing music since his teens but the art has only much more recently become a big part of my life. However, musical ideas have always had a tendency to come into my head and, several years ago, I decided to play these two bars to Neil. Every so often, in the years that followed, he would teasingly ask me how my new piece was coming on, knowing full well that I'd have to admit that my magnum opus was still only two bars long! By setting the melodic fragment at the heart of this composition I have finally ensured that he can tease me about it no longer. More importantly, I hope that Neil enjoys our little in-joke.The audio file for this work is beautifully performed by the work's dedicatee, Neil Crossland.

Piano Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1299153 By My Chemical Romance. By Bob Bryar, Frank Iero, Gerard Way, Mikey Way, and Ray Toro. Arranged by Trish Boril. Grunge,New Age,Pop,Rock,Wedding. Score. 7 pages. Large Print Sheet Music #889005. Published by Large Print Sheet Music (A0.1299153). This is a late beginner or early intermediate LARGE PRINT piano arrangement of Welcome To The Black Parade by the band, My Chemical Romance.  It has been abridged and simplified for an instrumental piano solo.  Trish Boril's son requested a minimalistic piano solo cover of this song for his wedding processional.  It features larger notes and wider staff spacing for easier note reading, and to assist low vision musicians.  It can easily be shortened, or looped if a longer version is desired.  It begins in the key of C, then modulates to the key of A near the ending, but it could be ended while in the key of C, if desired.  There is also a piano tutorial for this song on the Large Print Sheet Music YouTube channel.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1023644 Composed by Ben Ledochowski. 20th Century,Contemporary,New Age. Score. 12 pages. Ben Ledochowski #6217585. Published by Ben Ledochowski (A0.1023644). The Dreaming Sea was my first paid composition commission, a piece I wrote in April 2020. For the composition commission, my author friend Sterling Wisniewski requested me to score a short story of his, with the score I provided being expected to tell the story of the words through music and accompany original artwork. His short story is included as follows:A cardboard boat sifts the surface of the sea. A little girl,eyes closed, arms wide and crowned with a paper hat, stands at the front of the deck. Unsinkable - that's what she was. Her imagination bounced the boat on the tension of theworld, almost like it wasn't there. Her eyes were closed, yet she saw everything. On shore, a crowd of dirty sailors went about their work. Nasty mouths swore and harsh fists carried their cargo to their strong, dirty boat. A boy, no taller than a barrel, was in the midst of the buff shoulders and fit forearms. He peaked between the muscle mountains.He saw her. Eyes closed and arms wide, sailing away from the Sun and into the appearing Moon. The wind flapped her hair like the sail of a boat. The boy pried between the men and ran to the end of the dock, stuck his flat hand over his forehead to see. The boy could've sworn that she saw him. He could've sworn the boat swooped in a foot from his face. He could've sworn he heard her giggle. If anything, he thought he knew she saw him.The boy's father, the largest of all the men, wearing a real sailor's hat, gripped the boy's shoulder, spun him away from view of the cardboard boat, and without a word dragged him to the solid wooden ship in front of them. The robust crew pulled ropes and pushed out to set sail towards the setting Sun in the west.The boy soon slipped out of his father's grip and ran to the edge of the boat. Standing on his tiptoes, he hovered his eyes over the dock. There she was - eyes closed and arms wide, the wind flowing through her hair while her cardboard boat skipped the seas like a stone. he could've sworn she was thinking about him. he could've sworn he would see her again. He could've&n.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1005494 Composed by Jill Hudson. Contemporary,New Age,Sacred,Spiritual. Score. 2 pages. Jill Hudson #5803363. Published by Jill Hudson (A0.1005494). This beautiful piece was written during the 2020 coronavirus pandemic.  The pianist is directed to play Sadly, but with hope.  With an ostinato in the bass, the theme is stated simply in a minor key, then repeated with octaves, as if pleading.  The B section introduces a new contrasting theme in the relative major key, providing the hope needed to survive the loneliness and fear with which so many are suffering.  The bridge to the last statement of the theme once again employs octaves with the G# repeated tones building tension to the same longing with which we began.  This piece would be suitable for church services where contemplation is requested, such as preludes, offertoires, or communion.
