Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1199326 By Christopher Alexander. By Christopher Alexander. Contemporary,New Age. Score. 12 pages. Christopher Alexander #798373. Published by Christopher Alexander (A0.1199326). Mountains are naturally beautiful especially at sunrise and sunset where the sun seems to change the color at their summits. Ā This phenomenon may only last a short time twice a day, but it it worthwhile to see. Ā To be on the mountaintop when this occurs is like living in a painting. Ā This song captures the artistry and sensations of living in these moments. Ā A lone lyrical melody begins the work, adding supporting harmonies afterward. Ā The melody evolves into a folk-like structure that returns to its ominous original. Ā The driving winds and cold weather are further illustrated in the transition leading to recapitulations of the previous sections. Ā With quiet respite the work effortlessly floats away, seeemingly into the air.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1024388 Composed by Stephen Lebsanft. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score. 9 pages. Stephen Lebsanft #5794087. Published by Stephen Lebsanft (A0.1024388). Childā€™s Play is a representative work that captures the moods and sensations of a childā€™s backyard adventures through the perspective of their mindā€™s eye. As a young boy, I revelled in creating grand stories and playing them out in my backyard. I felt so invested in them that they almost seemed real and I endeavour to capture this commitment to my imagination in Childā€™s Play. The simple semiquaver ostinato present throughout most of the work represents the innocence of being young. Itā€™s lilting nature leadā€™s the listener to reminisce on the carefree nature of life at that age. In contrast to this, the stirring harmonies evoke feelings of drama and grandeur that depict the sagas that my imagination conjured. In keeping with the representative nature of the work, the sporadic changes in dynamics symbolize being constantly swept away to different imaginary lands as we all know young boys can rarely stay focused on a single idea for very long. With reference to the pedalling, I have very deliberately written the change to occur between notes where specified. This creates a lucid harmonic rhythm throughout the entire piece and a constant undertone of the mysterious enigma that is a childā€™s mind.

Piano Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.966218 Composed by John Carbon. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score. 25 pages. John Carbon #3586217. Published by John Carbon (A0.966218). Composed in 2016, Madeleines is similar to my two sets of Spanish Lessons (1988 and 2001) which are both suites of character pieces for piano inspired by my admittedly limited travel in Spain. Madeleines is inspired by a much earlier hairbrained trip I took to France (and the rest of the Grand Tour) with my sister when I was in college. The title refers to Proust's episode of the madeleine, in which involuntary memory overwhelms the protagonist when he bites into one of these small cakes. I also sometimes experience poignant memories from our fondly remembered trip triggered by various catalysts. The five episodes in this set of pieces attempt to capture the essence of some of these memories. The first piece, MeĢmoire triste dans un cafeĢ (sad memory in a cafeĢ), serves the purpose of a preĢlude. One might conclude that the madeleine is sampled in this location. Il pleut aĢ Brest (It is raining in Brest) evokes memories of the wet weather in Brest, a city in Brittany near the coast. I was curious about this area because, during our travels, we met a boy in Paris with dark and dangerous eyes named FrancĢ§ois (FrancĢ§ois et ses yeux dangereux) who was from that area. In Il pleut the sound of rain alternates with church bells and fog horns (one of the poetic sensations I remember vividly about Brest). The third piece (FrancĢ§ois) is a blend of a barcarolle and a funeral march. I continued to send one-way letters to FrancĢ§ois after we returned and one day the French police called to tell me that he was dead and that they had found one of my letters on his body, which had been tossed into the Seine. They wanted more information, and they revealed that he had been smuggling drugs out of Turkey. I think the next piece, Promenade dans la meĢnagerie de Versailles (Walk in the zoo at Versailles), is tempered by later memories of a trip I took to the zoo at SchoĢˆnbrunn palace near Vienna, the oldest Baroque zoo, which was in a terrible state of decay when I saw it, hence the wistful air. The finale of the set, Madeleine deĢteste les devoirs (Madeleine hates homework) is a bow to the French primer I grew up with, which had as one of its main characters a little girl who I think may have been named Madeleine. I know her father was named FrancĢ§ois. My memories are mixed up, the actual FrancĢ§ois Thibaud is remembered as the inventor of the fast-track method of learning French, which was in vogue when I first studied it in 6th grade. The idea here is that Madeleine, the daughter of FrancĢ§ois, is having a tantrum and playing with her hoops or a bike rather than doing her English homework. --John Carbon

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.994711 Composed by Darian Stavans. 20th Century,Contemporary,Standards. Score. 25 pages. Music Studio #4320903. Published by Music Studio (A0.994711). Los Poemas del Olvido belongs to my piano music album Imagenes de Amor/Images of Love by Darian Stavans.Images of Love is a musical reflection intending to describe that love has no images. Inside ourselves we build impressions, we merge together emotions, affections and the bonds of love to form the images life gives us as we walk along its mundane paths. From that first light we see at birth and all through our daily lives and emotional existence, we link together the daily events that guide us to protection and elicit the courage to face ourselves. That is precisely the instant in which we create our images of love, those impressions that will forever remain in our minds and souls giving us an identity. After all of this, after feeling and extracting all the best from these sensations, we return to the starting point, that point where once again love has no images. This album is part of that amazing world summarized in our souls, of that potential to constantly create new images of love according to what life deals us and the value we assign to such images before we again come to terms with the fact that the only common thread consists in cultivating the knowledge that love is a chain of acts and actionsā€¦ like the images we carry inside.12 pages.Duration: 12:54Performing Rights Organization: CD Baby / SACM Mexicowebsite: www.darianstavans.comemail: darianstavans@gmail.comYouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/darianstavans/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Darian.Stavans1

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1118223 Composed by Dalva R. R. Barbosa. Classical,Latin. Score. 5 pages. Dalva Regina Ribeiro Barbosa #719739. Published by Dalva Regina Ribeiro Barbosa (A0.1118223). This piece presents the process of overcoming feelings of betrayal (romantic relationship, workplace, friendship, family). The first part describes the negative sensations. The second part represents the process of overcoming. The images with water have an important meaning in the message I am giving. The first seconds of the piece are sad with memories of good moments now lost. The next stage is the hurt and the feelings of guilt . Anger and indignation follow, blaming the world and shouting. What comes next is liberation. The second half of the piece begins with rethinking of the future, with the same theme from the beginning of the piece. The scene shows an upright boy looking at the new waves he will face. The mind begins to put things together and reorganize itself. Then the soul, once wounded, begins to rise again ready to face a new life. Finally, with high spirits, pleasantly, new waves will be experienced and dominated.
