Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1207731 Composed by Paul Taylor. Jazz,Pop,Ragtime,Singer/Songwriter,Traditional. Score. 3 pages. Paul Taylor #805857. Published by Paul Taylor (A0.1207731). A  rag written in the dance style of the Two-step popular in the late 1800's .  This was the composer's go to piece back in the day when pianists still had to win crowd approval or else get bumped by another pianist.  These afterhours places were at bars, store basements  or else somebody's house and our pay was exclusively through tips. Tempo shouldn't be too fast due to  the dance pattern of step-together-step. Also, pianists are  encouraged  to use as much or as little pedal as they feel is  appropriate. Also, stomping the right pedal on the piano is encourage in order to keep a strong beat as Scott Joplin demonstrated in some of his rags.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.961560 Composed by Olly Wedgwood. Concert,Jazz,Standards. Score. 3 pages. OllysPianoSheets #5335091. Published by OllysPianoSheets (A0.961560). Friends shouldn't just hang out in fair weather, so here is All Weather Friends, a gentle swing waltz ideal for established intermediate players at about the Grade 4-5 standard (ABRSM).The melody and accompaniment is based upon a classic jazz waltz rhythm, so to get into the feel of this piece, you may find it useful to first practice clapping this rhythm:Remember that the quaver eighth notes are swung. The trick with this piece is to let the melody sing out above the jazz waltz accompaniment, so keep an ear on the melody at all times. In bar 21, the semiquaver 16th notes can be played a little faster than written, which will create more of a 'turn' ornament. Have a listen to the performance recording clip (above) at about halfway through to get the idea. This jazz waltz piano sheet music provides excellent practice for working on phrasing and sustain pedal technique. Occasionally, you may find a couple of hand position changes that risk disrupting the flow of the melodic phrase. In these instances, try a touch of sustain pedal to smooth out the transition. An example of this can be found in bar 31.After the repeated opening melody, the middle section moves into the key of G minor, featuring a rising arpeggio-based accompaniment with sustain pedal. There is a lot of quaver eighth-note movement in this section, so be sure to keep this rhythm smoothly swinging in the usual triplet manner:This middle section reaches a crescendo at bar 37 with a rippling chord effect between both hands. Try experimenting with different ways of splitting up these chords - you could ripple up from the left hand to the right hand, or try rippling both hands at the same time. Stick with whatever sounds good to you! After a poco rall the original melody returns via a D.C. al Coda. As is the convention for first and second time repeat bars, take the second time bar on the D.C. and then to the Coda. The play-along MP3 backing track for this sheet music is also available to download at Sheet Music Plus.Explore more fun piano sheet music by Olly Wedgwood at https://OllysPianoSheets.com I hope you enjoy All Weather Friends, whatever the weather!

Piano Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.1025254 Composed by Adrian E. Wagner. Contemporary. Score. 2 pages. Adrian E. Wagner #5038501. Published by Adrian E. Wagner (A0.1025254). Rocket Surgery is a bouncy, dance-paced instrumental work, composed by Adrian Wagner during his senior year of college. The title refers to two common sayings; whilst describing a task which shouldn't be especially difficult, you might say it's not rocket science, or it's not brain surgery, or perhaps even it's not rocket surgery. While it was originally written as a piano solo, the composer also drew out an orchestral arrangement, which Explorchestra premiered at Binghamton University, in April 2019. To a certain extent, he was trying to mimic electronic dance music in a completely acoustic manner. Unlike a handful of his other works, this piece is not so easy. This is Rocket Surgery.Good luck suppressing the urge to get up and dance!

Piano Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1328143 By Steve Stanfill. By William B. Bradbury. Arranged by Steve Stanfill. Chamber,Christian,Praise & Worship,Traditional. Score. 2 pages. Steve Stanfill #916118. Published by Steve Stanfill (A0.1328143). This is an arrangement of the  19th centruy hymn Sweet Hour of Prayer, attributed to William B. Bradbury.  It is suitable for prelude, postlude, or performance in Church services, combining the hymn tune with motifs from Giacomo Meyerbeer's hymn commonly set as Jesus Once of Humble Birth.  Both of these hymns have common usage in Christian congregations today, and will be particularly familiar to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.Performance Practice:  This hymn should not be rushed but shouldn't drag either.  Markings are not included for damper pedal under the assumption that it's use should be rather intuitive given the harmonic rythum of the piece.  Occasional non-harmonic notes (mostly augmented 9ths)  in chords are intentional and should be present but not prominent--there to provide tension and color only.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1134936 By Juan María Solare. By Juan María Solare. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Instructional. Score. 8 pages. Juan Maria Solare #652301. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.1134936). Juan María Solare: Bubbles, Floating Bubbles - a polyrhythmic etude Concert etude composed in Bremen (2-3 July) and Worpswede (5 July 2010). Duration: 4:30 (if the repetition -from bar 28 to the end- is being played; if not, 3 minutes). Bublles, Floating Bubbles - by Juan María Solare Bubbles, Floating Bubbles on Youtube: Bubbles, Floating Bubbles on Spotify: This composition is a concert etude, since it can be performed at a recital (and not only used to practice). The degree of virtuosity is relatively low, but nevertheless not suitable for absolute beginners. Technically, the main characteristic of this piece is the polyrhythm 2 against 3: the melody subdivides the quarter in 2, and the accompaniment plays triplets. In this sense, an answer to Carl Czerny's polyrhythmic studie in E major. Please use abundant pedal when playing this piece. The idea is to generate a cloud of sound, not a machinal pattern. The sound character of this piece should be closer to Debussy than to Scarlatti. The initial indication scorrevole (fleeting) should orientate the character and the sound quality, the touch. Fermatas and caesuras should add time to the bar, like breathing in. In bar 8 (end) the silence is only in he left hand: the note of the right hand shouldn't be interrupted. This is actually clear if one read the rhythms carefully, but my experience tells me that it is prudent to underline this particular point. In bar 16 (and similar places), left hand: it is the central melody what should be in foreground, not the bass. Imagine that the melody is played by a cello or viola, and the bass by a double bass (or better: a bassoon). Try to achieve a different timbre and to separate therefore both layers. The title refers to this poem: Sum venti ingenium breve Flos sum, scilicet, aeris …… Sum blandum, petulans, vagum, Pulchrum, purpureum, et decens, Comptum, floridulum, et recens. Richard Crashaw -Jacobean English poet- (1613-1649), Bulla (Bubble) I am the brief nature of the wind To be sure, I am the flower of air ...... I am charming, wanton, inconstant, Beautiful, gleaming, and noble, Ornate, somewhat blooming, and fresh.
