Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1077067 By Michael Swedberg. By Terrence Niska. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary. Score. 4 pages. Niska Music Publishing #681209. Published by Niska Music Publishing (A0.1077067). A sense of foreboding fills the air as this piece begins. There is a darkness on the horizon and it can mean only one thing: the storm approaches. The simple chords of the intro present a feeling of calm that belies the impending torrent. The music takes a deep breath and then…it begins. In the left hand, a figure reminiscent of Chopin’s “Revolutionary†Etude begins (though not nearly as quick). The rains start to fall and the winds begin to blow as the storm builds in intensity. Measure by measure the music grows in strength until the climax is reached and the gales begin to subside with the last crashes of thunder. For all its fury, the storm is over. The clouds begin to recede across the horizon and in the end, a single ray of sunlight breaks through the gloom.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1114708 Composed by Adolphe-Charles Adam, Mykola Leontovych, and Peter Wilhousky. Arranged by Yitzak Nance. Christmas,Holiday. Score. 10 pages. Yitzak Nance #716571. Published by Yitzak Nance (A0.1114708). An arrangement of Oh Holy Night with Carol of the Bells embedded as the middle voice. The Carol of the Bells embedded as the middle voice throughout the O Holy Night portion should be a consistently joyous ringing that provides the background and foundation of the majestic O Holy Night melody. The chromatic scales took inspiration from Liszt, wherein he frequently embeds arpeggios or scales of some sort within a surrounding outer melody. The violent nature of the left hand arpeggios with the chromatic scales reminds me of Sturm und Drang, reminiscent of Liszt and also Beethoven, my two favorite composers other than Gershwin. You can sense a little bit of Gershwin even in the dense chords before the free cadenza that leads to the clear and ringing open F Major chord that restarts the carol of the bells at the a tempo (after the cadenza).

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.800918 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Louis Drummond. Jazz,Latin,Pop,Rock. Score. 6 pages. Louis Drummond Van Rensburg #6255601. Published by Louis Drummond Van Rensburg (A0.800918). Symphony No 40 in G minor was composed by Mozart in 1788. It is one of the only two symphonies he wrote in minor keys and reflects his interest in the artistic movement known as Sturm und Drang, in which darker and stronger emotions were showcased. Waldo de los Rios' arrangement of Mozart's Symphony No 40, recorder with the Manuel de Falla orchestra in 1971,  reached the top spot in the Dutch charts and scored a top ten hit in several other European countries. My solo piano arrangement for intermediate piano players includes a 16 bar interlude with a Samba feel.
