The arrangement includes a modulation to the key of G Major, helpful fingering,quarter note triplets,and arpeggios that mimic the waves of the sea, coming in and out. Some of the arpeggios are two hands, contrary motion. This song is very effective if you play a recording of ocean waves in the background as you perform. Written in C minor, this late intermediate piano solo is a fun jazz/blues piece played in a swing rhythm complete with fingering, triplets (quarter, eighth, and 16th note), grace notes, and left hand broken octaves that walk up and down the bass section of the piano. The bridge changed to the relative Major of Eb and is an old-time (Happy Days style) rock-n-roll. I think you'll have a lot of fun playing this piece as well as getting some toes tapping. It was an exciting time in America's history back in 1869, when the race was on between the Central Pacific and the Union Pacific Railroad. They met at Promontory Summit, Utah thus creating the first transcontinental railroad in North America. This piece is in G minor, and contains fingering, triplets, moving 3rds, chords that will sound like a train whistle, and tremolo at the end for a great finish.
