Published by Panagiotis Theodossiou (A0.886642). 30 Short Children Pieces for Piano Solo (2007)The life of a child reveals and hides inside images and sentiments, sounds and experiences, questions and concerns. Parts of a world lost forever but treasured in the adult soul. From First Day, First Page of the diary and Sunday’s Joybells to the Bittersweet morning dances and the Calm of a Sunny Afternoon, from A Sudden Absence and a Strange Question to the Loneliness and Dream, from the imaginary Indian Dance to the Walkin’ on a Rainy Day and from March of the Goose to the Flowers’ Waltz, Lullaby and Farewell Song, these Diary of a Child pages unfold the thread of a very well known memory, a memory of us all. These 30 short piano pieces were composed between 2003 and 2007. Some of them are compositions of inspired children, composer’s pupils, like Orsaki Roussetou and Plato Tsoukatos-Pontikis.This collection is dedicated to all composer’s pupils and especially toy Nikos Karidis, the grown up child who gave me the opportunity to write most of the pieces presented. The work was recorded by Dimitra Mane on cd for the upcoming edition.. The artist performed parts of the work in composer's personal Portrait organized by Greek Composers Union at Hellenic Conservatory in Maroussi in 2010 and the whole collection at Mikros Horos Tehnis (Little Hall of Arts) in Glyfada, Attiki, in 2015. Parts of the work had been performed also by Eleni Papaspyrou students, from Herakleion Music School, in Theatrical Station, Herakleion, Crete and at Lillian Voudouri Library Hall in Athens Concert Hall in 2015.39. Piano Solo - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1466214 Composed by Peggy Carter. Children,Contemporary,Instructional,March,Patriotic. Score. 8 pages. Peggy Carter #1044824. Published by Peggy Carter (A0.1466214). Memorial Day March- Primer Level (or early Level 1) piano students. The right Hand is in the D (minor) 5-finger position, Left Hand is in the Middle C position. A Warm-up exercise reinforces the right-hand D position and the left-hand Middle C position—there's also, a “Push-Up” exercise to strengthen the 4th finger of each hand. This patriotic march uses half notes, quarter notes, 8th notes, and quarter rests and it includes dynamic contrast as the melody emerges, shared between both hands. The arrangement includes ascending and descending steps and skips with contrasting legato and staccato techniques in an altogether exciting marcato style. Original lyrics can be used to help with memorization. This march would be a great addition to the end-of-year piano recital or even a piano competition.Merry Go Round is also Primer or Early Level 1. In Middle-C hand position the gentle Waltz Time (3/4) brilliantly compliments the March and offers dynamic contrast and staccato technique.  Students will enjoy the parallel motion contrasted to contrary motion with moving 8th notes in one hand against dotted half notes in the other hand. This arrangement invites a focus on musical expression that won't go unnoticed in a recital or contest setting.

Piano Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1368455 By Jose Valladares. By Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Jose Valladares. Baroque. Score. 1 pages. Circlesquare Music #952801. Published by Circlesquare Music (A0.1368455). The March in D Major, BWV Anh. 122 is attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach, one of the most influential composers of the Baroque era. However, it's important to note that BWV Anh. 122 is part of the Anhang (Anh.), a section of the Bach-Werke-Verzeichnis (Bach Works Catalogue) that includes works of dubious authenticity or those once attributed to Bach but later found to be composed by other composers. In the case of BWV Anh. 122, it's generally believed that the piece was not composed by J.S. Bach himself but rather by one of his contemporaries or successors.Despite the uncertainty regarding its true composer, the March in D Major, BWV Anh. 122 is a delightful and spirited composition that exhibits the stylistic characteristics of the Baroque period. Here are some key aspects of the piece:Baroque Style: The piece reflects the Baroque style, known for its emphasis on contrast, movement, and clear, structured forms. The march is typically characterized by a steady, processional rhythm, and BWV Anh. 122 exemplifies this with its clear, marching tempo.D Major Key: Being in D Major, the piece likely has a bright and jubilant character. D Major is often associated with grandeur and triumph, making it a popular choice for celebratory and ceremonial music during the Baroque period.Keyboard Composition: Like many of Bach's (or his contemporaries') compositions, this march is likely composed for the keyboard, which during Bach's time would have included instruments like the harpsichord or the clavichord. It might also be adaptable for performance on the modern piano.Structure and Texture: The piece probably features a contrapuntal texture, a hallmark of Baroque music, where two or more melodic lines are woven together harmoniously. The structure of the march is likely to be straightforward and symmetrical, reflecting the order and balance prized in the Baroque era.Pedagogical Use: Pieces like the March in D Major, BWV Anh. 122 are often used for educational purposes, helping students develop a sense of rhythm, form, and Baroque style. They are suitable for intermediate-level students who are exploring the stylistic features of Baroque keyboard music.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.565778 By Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Sharon Wilson. By Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Arranged by Sharon Wilson and Sharon Wilson Music. Christmas,Folk,Multicultural,Romantic Period,Standards,World. Score. 5 pages. Sharon Wilson #6133459. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.565778). Here is a bold and bright arrangement for piano solo of the second movement in Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky's ever-popular Nutcracker Suite. While maintaining characteristics of the original work, subtle variations add a contemporary interpretation creating a simplified, yet festive instrumental selection. This song is the perfect addition to the classical holiday repertoire for the intermediate pianist. This song is one of the 8 piano solo arrangements in the collection The Nutcracker Suite (Complete Collection for Piano Solo). These arrangements were created to make challenging classical music more accessible for the intermediate player or easier to sight-read by more advanced players. Another feature of these arrangements is they are consistent at the intermediate skill level throughout each piece. Many have been simplified and only include excerpts from the longer original movements. Other simplified characteristics include easier key signatures and timings and some melodies were modified to create a smoother flow between phrases.Visit Sharon Wilson's website: https://www.sharonwilsonmusic.com/Subscribe to her YouTube Channel: https://youtube.com/@SharonWilsonMusicCover Image Credit: Pixabay.com

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1368475 By Jose Valladares. By Vladimir Rebikoff. Arranged by Jose Valladares. Classical. Score. 1 pages. Circlesquare Music #952822. Published by Circlesquare Music (A0.1368475). The Soldier's Pass by Vladimir Rebikov is a piano composition that reflects the composer's innovative style and emotional depth. Vladimir Rebikov, often spelled as Rebikoff, was a Russian composer and pianist known for his exploratory approach to harmony and his contributions to the early modernist movement in music. Born in 1866, Rebikov was a contemporary of composers like Rachmaninoff and Scriabin and is noted for his expressive and at times, unconventional musical language. While specific details about The Soldier's Pass may not be widely documented, we can infer certain characteristics based on Rebikov's general compositional style and the thematic title of the piece:Evocative and Programmatic: Rebikov was known for his programmatic approach to composition, often seeking to convey a narrative or depict a scene through his music. The Soldier's Pass likely tells a story or captures a mood associated with a soldier's experience, perhaps reflecting themes of journey, conflict, or reflection.Innovative Harmonies: Rebikov was an early innovator in exploring new harmonic structures, including whole-tone scales and unconventional chord progressions. The Soldier's Pass may feature interesting and unexpected harmonic shifts that add depth and complexity to the music.Expressive Melody and Rhythm: Given the military theme, the piece might incorporate rhythmic elements that evoke the idea of marching or movement. The melody could be strong and pronounced, conveying a sense of determination or solemnity that aligns with the soldier's narrative.Emotional Depth: Rebikov's music is often characterized by its emotional intensity. The Soldier's Pass would likely embody this quality, offering a rich tapestry of feelings that resonate with the listener and invite introspection.Pedagogical Value: Despite his innovative approach, Rebikov's music is accessible and has been used for educational purposes. The Soldier's Pass might serve as a valuable piece for developing pianists, offering insights into early modernist techniques and expressive playing.Atmospheric and Descriptive: Rebikov had a talent for creating atmospheric music that paints a vivid picture in the listener's mind. The Soldier's Pass would likely be descriptive and immersive, drawing the performer and the audience into the scene it portrays.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1456161 Composed by Abe Holzmann. Arranged by Keith Terrett. 20th Century,Contest,Festival,Historic,Instructional,Multicultural,World. Score. 9 pages. Keith Terrett #1035313. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1456161). Abe Holzmann wrote some very fine marches, but here's one inspired by a book. Herbert Kaufman's 1910 book The Winning Fight inspired this winning march (it's a book about self-mastery and fostering a can-do attitude). Tiis march was published by Leo Feist in New York City in 1911.Arrangement of a March by Abe Holzmann (1874-1939),  writthn in 1911. He also wrote what is probably his best known march Blaze Away''.Blaze Away! is a 1901 march by the German-American composer Abe Holzmann. It was his greatest success.Holzmann was inspired by the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish–American War, when a command to American sailors to open fire on the Spanish fleet was reputedly met with the response Well boys, let's blaze away by the gunners. Building on the war fever in the United States, the cover of the sheet music featured an image resembling Theodore Roosevelt charging at San Juan Hill. Very popular as a two-step, its success outlasted the war and it became a repertoire piece amongst military bands around the world.Abraham Holzmann (19 August 1874 – 16 January 1939) was an American composer, famous for his march Blaze-Away! Abraham Holzmann was born in New York City. His parents were Jacob Holzmann, a Hungarian-Jewish immigrant and Isabella Holzmann, a native of Louisiana. The young Holzmann learned music in Germany. A review originally published by the New York Herald on Sunday, 13 January 1901, entitled German Composer who Writes American Cakewalk Music describes [h]is knowledge of bass and counterpoint is thorough, and his standard compositions bear the stamp of harmonic lore, which makes his proclivity for the writing of the popular style of music the more remarkable. Abe married Isabelle Fishblatt around 1908, and he became the manager of the Orchestra Department at Jerome Remick & Company, music publisher in New York. He was an early member (1923) of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP). He earned his livelihood as composer/arranger for Tin Pan Alley publishers, including Leo Feist. He later was advertising manager for the American Federation of Musicians publication, International Musician. He was a member of Freemasonry, the Elks, and Knights of Pythias, all in New York City. Holzmann died in East Orange, New Jersey at age 64. He was survived by his widow, a daughter Natalie Holzmann, three half-brothers, and four sisters. His music was especially revered by ragtime enthusiasts, although he composed marches, waltzes, and other light music. His 1899 composition Smokey Mokes was briefly featured in the 1936 movie San Francisco.
