Franz Lisztās first publications with Schott in 1838 were his piano transcriptions of the song cycle āSoirĆ©es musicalesā by Gioacchino Rossini. The ninth of these, āLa Danza. Tarantella Napoletanaā (plate numbers 4967-9) is still very popular with virtuosos today. Later, in 1855, 1858 and 1883, amongst other works, Lisztās three volumes āAnnĆ©es de pĆØlerinageā (āYears of Pilgrimageā), probably his most important collection of character pieces for piano, were also published by Schott.
