Piano Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1284475 By Marco Poggi. By Marco Poggi. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary. Score. 3 pages. Marco Poggi #875648. Published by Marco Poggi (A0.1284475). This short piece for solo piano is part of a collection of ten preludes written in Rome between 2008 and 2013. Like preludes 2 & 3, it was conceived in a romantic mood, tinged with longing and tenderness. In this case, I wanted to write a piece with a catchy theme, harmonically and formally (ABA') simple in order to make it appreciable at first listen. I fall in love (!) with this piece, especially when played by strings, and so I derived from it other pieces: Agnus Dei for SATB choir & string orchestra, Andante for string quartet and Simple Song for solo organ.

Smoke Gets In Your Eyes is arranged as played by piano artist, Liberace. This version is from the rare early album Liberace At Home.  Smoke Gets in Your Eyes is a show tune written by American composer Jerome Kern and lyricist Otto Harbach for the 1933 musical Roberta. The song was sung in the Broadway show by Tamara Drasin. Its first recorded performance was by Gertrude Niesen, who recorded the song with orchestral direction from Ray Sinatra, Frank Sinatra's second cousin,[1] on October 13, 1933. On October 30, 1946, Nat King Cole recorded the song in his trio with Oscar Moore on guitar and Johnny Miller on double bass, during a live broadcast from New York City.[10] Cole performed it on television in 1957 for The Nat King Cole Show.  Władziu Valentino Liberace (May 16, 1919 – February 4, 1987) was an American pianist, singer, and actor.  A child prodigy born in Wisconsin to parents of Italian and Polish origin, he enjoyed a career spanning four decades of concerts, recordings, television, motion pictures, and endorsements. Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.896533 By Muse. By Matthew Bellamy. Arranged by Adam Kempshall. Rock. Score. 3 pages. Adam Kempshall #4614789. Published by Adam Kempshall (A0.896533). Plug In Baby is a song by English rock band Muse. It was released as the lead single from the band's second studio album, Origin of Symmetry (2001), on 5 March 2001.The song became the band's highest-charting single in the UK when it peaked at number 11 on the UK Singles Chart, until it was surpassed by Time Is Running Out, which peaked at number 8 in 2003. Today, Plug In Baby is considered one of Muse's most notable songs, and has been featured on the live albums Hullabaloo Soundtrack (2002), HAARP (2008) and Live at Rome Olympic Stadium (2013).This arrangement for solo piano is done in a mock late-Baroque, early-Classical gavotte style. Suitable for a light-hearted moment within a classical or pop/rock programme. Ornaments should be played in the Baroque style. Probably also sounds good on a Harpsichord, though there are some dynamics written. About 3 minutes in length.

Piano Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.982072 Composed by James Gardner. Contemporary. Score. 12 pages. James Gardner #6136181. Published by James Gardner (A0.982072). In 1988 my wife and I were sent by our church to take part in the World Conference on Liturgical Music in Rome at the Vatican.  It was so exciting for us to go on our first trip to the Eternal City!!  We took a taxi to the Vatican and it let us off right within walking distance of St. Peter's Basilica!  It was so overwhelming, exciting, and beautiful all at once; it was almost too much to take in!  After that wonderful week when I returned I set down and began to improvise at the piano to see what I might be able to express about the experience.  What came to me almost immediately was the memory of the sound of chant in that great space!  I came up with a very contemporary combination of old and new in a jazz framework.

The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. UPDATE 1744 A.D. Piano Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.966218 Composed by John Carbon. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score. 25 pages. John Carbon #3586217. Published by John Carbon (A0.966218). Composed in 2016, Madeleines is similar to my two sets of Spanish Lessons (1988 and 2001) which are both suites of character pieces for piano inspired by my admittedly limited travel in Spain. Madeleines is inspired by a much earlier hairbrained trip I took to France (and the rest of the Grand Tour) with my sister when I was in college. The title refers to Proust's episode of the madeleine, in which involuntary memory overwhelms the protagonist when he bites into one of these small cakes. I also sometimes experience poignant memories from our fondly remembered trip triggered by various catalysts. The five episodes in this set of pieces attempt to capture the essence of some of these memories. The first piece, Mémoire triste dans un café (sad memory in a café), serves the purpose of a prélude. One might conclude that the madeleine is sampled in this location. Il pleut á Brest (It is raining in Brest) evokes memories of the wet weather in Brest, a city in Brittany near the coast. I was curious about this area because, during our travels, we met a boy in Paris with dark and dangerous eyes named François (François et ses yeux dangereux) who was from that area. In Il pleut the sound of rain alternates with church bells and fog horns (one of the poetic sensations I remember vividly about Brest). The third piece (François) is a blend of a barcarolle and a funeral march. I continued to send one-way letters to François after we returned and one day the French police called to tell me that he was dead and that they had found one of my letters on his body, which had been tossed into the Seine. They wanted more information, and they revealed that he had been smuggling drugs out of Turkey. I think the next piece, Promenade dans la ménagerie de Versailles (Walk in the zoo at Versailles), is tempered by later memories of a trip I took to the zoo at Schönbrunn palace near Vienna, the oldest Baroque zoo, which was in a terrible state of decay when I saw it, hence the wistful air. The finale of the set, Madeleine déteste les devoirs (Madeleine hates homework) is a bow to the French primer I grew up with, which had as one of its main characters a little girl who I think may have been named Madeleine. I know her father was named François. My memories are mixed up, the actual François Thibaud is remembered as the inventor of the fast-track method of learning French, which was in vogue when I first studied it in 6th grade. The idea here is that Madeleine, the daughter of François, is having a tantrum and playing with her hoops or a bike rather than doing her English homework. --John Carbon

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1314290 By PIano - Sebastian Kurz. By Geraldine (Denny) Green. 21st Century,Chamber,Classical,Contemporary,Romantic Period. Score. 27 pages. Geraldine (Denny) Green at Oakmountmusic #903031. Published by Geraldine (Denny) Green at Oakmountmusic (A0.1314290). Written in 2008, Miscellany, 7 short movements for solo piano, was Commissioned by conductor/pianist Anthony Davie.Duration: approx 15 minutes in total.Inspired by friends, family and general life experiences, this set of short pieces encompasses a range of moods; from Romantic and melodic to comical and dissonant.Movement 1. Didi – Didi was a very unique and special friend for many years. She gave out great spiritual strength and insight into this very confusing world in which we all live. She was a real tower of quiet, gentle strength.Movement 2. Brew! – This movement was inspired directly by the Brewing Industry. It strives to depict the hustle and bustle of a busy, working brewery and the the many hilarious, fabulous people I met during my three years in the beer-making industry.Movement 3 – Convent Cherub – This little piece began life as the opening title music of a film score I worked on while at college. The film itself, entitled My Brother Rob, was made by Alison Hilder, a student director at the Harrow School of Film. The story told of a young boy traumatised by a convent boarding school up-bringing. I have felt for many years that this little main theme has needed an alternative home, as much film music is never played again.Movement 4 – Megan – This movement comes directly from my wonderful and beautiful daughter, who was 5 years old at the time of the writing of this piece. It seeks to express her wild vibrance, eternal cheekiness, infinite energy, sparkle and the utter fearlessness of youth.Movement 5 – Edward – This music is for my gorgeous little son, who has Down’s Syndrome, and was only 3 at the time of the writing of this piece. The opening came to me moments after the doctor had confirmed Edward had Down’s, when he was only 6 hours old. The music tries to convey the fear of the unknown, huge unconditional love and moments of uncertainty alternated by washes of strength. And yet, all through the fear the resolve to forever love and stay strong always wins.Movement 6 – Indifference – The opening 4 notes are the core of this movement, and the piece is built around and from them. This music is an observation of deep, rumbling frustration at the indifference growing in our fast moving, modern society.Movement 7 – “Wee Us” – This movement expresses family triumph, the gifts of life and love, and the glory of boundless, wild, youthful energy. This tune has not yet run its course. It will be back!

Other Arrangements Available: https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/en/category/arrangeme/426/fernando-ramos/?isPLP=1I make piano solo arrangements for my students of songs that they love! My goal is to create something that sounds beautiful as a standalone piece of music and, most importantly, that it also makes pianistic sense. Each of my arrangements is made for a specific student, so the results will vary in terms of playing level. Most decisions are based on their current skills and abilities, or where I would like for them to be when they complete the piece.  This arrangement was made for a late beginner. It is way easier than it looks, but beware of the octaves. Make sure your student's hand can reach. Believe it or not, my student was only in Federation Class Primary III! But she was able to learn this piece with no issues. It helped that she was obsessed with this music! It was one of the highlights at our recital. She totally nailed it.  Pedaling and fingering suggestions are included.
