In 2010, AMOUR LOINTAIN (LOVE FROM AFAR) won 2nd in the Division 7 State Contest sponsored by the Music Teachers' Association Of California.

After attending a piano concert in 2009 featuring several works by Maurice Ravel, Robert was inspired to write this piano work in the style of the Impressionistic French composers. 

It comprises lyrical melodies in mostly 9/8 and 5/4 meters and sequential patterns, using predominately notes from the whole tone scales.

The left hand ostinato occurs mostly throughout while the right hand melody is heard in different keys. As the piece concludes, there is a brief reprise of the waltz melody that slowly fades away.

The score is clearly and carefully notated with dynamic marks, phrasing, pedal indications, suggested fingerings, and appropriate musical terms for playing.

This piano solo makes a wonderful recital and encore piece that will delight audiences...ideal for both students and professionals.

Marriage d'Amour is a popular piano piece often associated with romantic themes and is widely recognized for its beautiful, melancholic melody. The piece is frequently misattributed to Frédéric Chopin due to its classical style and emotional depth, but it was actually composed by French pianist and composer Paul de Senneville in 1979.

The confusion surrounding the piece also comes from another title, Chopin's Spring Waltz, under which it has been falsely circulated, especially on the internet. However, Marriage d'Amour is purely Paul de Senneville's work, composed for the record label Delphine, which he co-founded with Olivier Toussaint. The piece was originally performed by pianist Richard Clayderman, who is known for his interpretations of romantic and easy-listening piano music.

The piece itself is characterized by its flowing, lyrical melody and gentle waltz rhythm, making it a favorite for weddings and romantic occasions. Marriage d'Amour is loved by pianists and audiences alike for its simplicity and the emotional resonance it evokes, making it a timeless and enduring piece in the repertoire of romantic piano music.

Plaisir d'amour, which means Pleasure of Love in French, is a classical/romantic love song written in 1784 by Jean-Paul-Égide Martini (1741–1816). The lyrics come from a poem by Jean-Pierre Claris de Florian (1755–1794), which appears in his novel Célestine. This famous and beloved song has inspired many arrangements, transcriptions, and re-inventions, including Elvis Presley’s hit ballad, I Can't' Help Falling in Love with You.

This arrangement for late intermediate to early advanced piano remains true to the original vocal and piano accompaniment composition and offers the early advanced pianist challenging voicing opportunities, grace notes, and trills.

Une vie d`amour ( A life of love) is a song written by Charles Aznavour to the music of Georges Garvarentz. The original version, sung by Aznavour in French, was introduced in the 1981 movie Teheran 43 (USSR). In March the same year it was by released by French Barclay Records in three separate albums - Teheran 43, Autobiographie and Une vie d`amour single with Mireille Mathieu. This song is a slow love ballad and one of the best songs by Charles Aznavour. I hope you enjoy my arrangement of it!
